Has RGT been slowing down

That's another good point. Even if RGT seems slow at times, it's still pretty poppin' by the standards of a forum in 2025. I've seen some once popular forums that slowly died overtime, and RGT still isn't even close in that regard. Once you start seeing only 3-4 posts a day, then it's time to worry.

I think it's better that there isn't any. Current events are constantly talked about on social media, to the point you'd basically need to be exclusively on Tumblr to avoid it. Even then, it does take a bit of pruning and filtering. I'd imagine most discord servers have it in part of regular discussions, as well. Having places that are breaks from the horrors of the world is very necessary to reduce stress.
I didn't even mean any of that. I also absolutely want to get away from the existential horrors. I just meant stuff like modern gaming news, or really anything new coming out. I didn't even see threads for the Summer Games Fest event last week, and honestly like I said, we're all retro gamers here, I don't think many of us have much interest for modern AAA gaming industry.

Oh, gotcha. Apologies, that's my bad.

Yeah, I doubt a lot of people here care about it that much. I see some discussions every now and again, but it's true most people aren't into it outside of what I presume are advertisers in the recommendations subforum. I'd imagine you could attract a bit of an audience with a thread, but I feel it'd mostly just be people not interested making their lack of interest known. At most, you could probably get something like Stardew.

Ive just been super busy sadly cant be on here every day to post I just end up reading articles than go about my day

No offense but like there’s nothing to do on here
yeah there isnt alot to do but just interact which is fine i dont want it to be like regular social media

It looks the same to me. But maybe my powers of observation are dimming.

I currently administrate three sites (two of which have forums, and one its the official site for its theme) and I really wish they had the level of activity and participation RGT does.

That said, I'm not gonna pretend that mistakes weren't made and that we couldn't do with some improvements here and there, on both sides of the counter. That's definitely an ongoing issue and a point of pride for me personally.

Buuuut... We are about to reach a milestone I had dreamed about ever-since I laid eyes on this place for the first time and saw its sheer potential. I'm incredibly pleased with that.

Definitely feels like it's been winding down to me too. With a number of regular's leaving the site or becoming more inactive. I know I haven't been feeling it the same lately either. It's possible the "Honeymoon phase" of a new site and forum is simply wearing off a bit for a lot of users too.
Wanting to better explain my message on page 1. It would be false to state that RGT is a dead reality, because the repository is always well-updated and often provides a third pole for already established realities like Romhacking and RomHack Plaza, while it's the participation in the sections that has changed a lot.

Many larger spaces have been fractioned and so their total influence has necessarily decreased, moreover, I seem to recall that initially 'General Discussion' and 'General Gaming Discussions' had a very similar number of discussions, whereas now the first has 18 pages, but the second has had almost 3 times its activity with 53!

I
notice
less
activity
now.

Love u all anyway.

Also, i hope you guys have diarrhea today.

According to the forum's stats: new threads seem to have flattened (the patient would be dead if those were their vitals), but everything else is in the uptick. We are even seeing a dramatic increase on active users compared to previous months.

I guess that a lot of activity is "hidden" because it centers around old topics that remain alive rather than new ones.

Where is the problem, everything is fine. Sometimes it goes like this sometimes it goes like that. I think you can be satisfied with RGT.

Still new here so I'm not sure how things usually go but I find the pace between posting and replying relatively well balanced. The forums are a nice bonus to have too, just a lovely little corner of the internet.
