Even though it may be the weakest in terms of gameplay (or second weakest if you prefer it over superstar saga) it dosen't take away that it has one of the best stories in any mario game, just the scope and greatness of the cover art says it all, pretty much having some of the best antagonists in any nintendo game, altough the actual final boss was unecessary, also the score by yoko shimomura is some of the best on the ds (along with bowser's inside story)

God, this was basically a GBA game that wanted to flex out the double screen in every way possible. Something I did appreciated but man if Bowser's Inside Story just resolved every issue I wanted to see with this game back then.
It's still not a bad game. The baby interactions were funny, Princess Shroob fights felt really dangerous and I was so hyped to finish it when I've reached that part. It's also the only Mario game with Young E.Gadd.

Bowser's Inside Story remake (on 3DS in 2019, of all things) shouldn't have happened.
Even with everyone's gripes with Brothership (I personally liked it, even with the bad pacing), idk, M&L is still alive, at least. I don't think I'm the only one with these feels.

Just like with Paper Mario TTYD i expected more Mario Antics, but the plot gets serious real fast, heck, the final battle's theme feels sadder this time
