for the past 15 or so years, pre-order culture hasn't been about securing spots; It's about the convenience of bookmarking games you might want. I haven't owned a console in years, but the storefronts on PS had no method of bookmarking games I was interested in, unlike Steam. So, pre-ordering it was a solution. Most companies just relied on you forgetting about making the pre-purchase/subscription.Link
Have you pre-ordered yet? I guess I don't understand pre-ordering a digital game except for maybe pre-loading it a few days to a week before it launches.
now, they don't have to trick you. IPs are so well-known that there's always a userbase to sell to and online posts like the ones we are making now are advertisements.
