So let's talk about Green Lantern, those ring wearing folks who can summon stuff from their mind to aid them or to use in battle. Much like Captain America, I've been a fan of this series and it's numerous incarnations throughout the years. I grew up mostly with Hal from older comics that my mom had and missed the boat on the Geoff Johns run (which would have been amazing if I'd been into comics then).

I also didn't think the movie was that bad, but certainly not without it's problems

I don't know much about GL, just people going "he can lose to yellow things" and someone would inevitably talk about being him with a banana.

You think that's bad? Alan (Golden Age GL) is weak against wood. Eventually in the Geoff Johns run, they figure out how to overcome Yellow as sort of fear induced thing. Kyle I don't think ever had that problem because he was the last GL after Hal went insane and killed everybody

The video is "Shangrila" by Billy Idol off of his album "Cyberpunk"

Wood? Wow.
"Green Lantern impaled by toothpicks"
"Green Lantern sits on bench, dies"
"Green Lantern beaten to death in a medieval dildo exhibit in the netherlands"
There's a scene in 90's JSA where a plant-like villain fatally wounds Alan by impaling his chest with vines, making him unable to heal :P

But yeah, Alan got super powerful later on due exposure to the "star heart" (this alien meteorite) that was in his ring to the point where I think it kind of began to inhabit his body

honestly green lantern will always have a special place to me for being one of the few comic book superheroes to actual rebel and crash out against the whole "you must be miserable" status quo and actually WIN.

....even if it meant he had to become a tyrannical supervillain for a few years lmao

I kind of wonder what would have happened to the series if Emerald Twilight hadn't happened. We wouldn't have had Kyle as a GL and certainly not John's revival of Hal
