Gradius v issue ps2 rom

Using rg405v ( sorry don't know the namr of ps2 emulator)

All 3 versions of gradius 5, European, USA and Japan only save up to stage 5 of level 2. Beyond that won't allow to save any more.

Any fixes?

Ones I know is PPSSX2 and another one which I used(don't remember it name)
you have save problems..okay where the saves file goes? Make sure you don't use demo roms. Try use quick save(some emulator have it)
make sure you system(phone or pc) don't delete your save files.
I know some games have limit in save does your game have it too?

aetherSX2! Yes it must be that! It need bios but it work so good!

the X-Files PS2 game was doing the same thing for me
the only way to progress was to use save states & that's annoying
updating to the latest version of PCSX2 fixed it

Hi so its aethersx2 emulator I'm using. So should I uninstall it and upgrade to pcsx2? And how would I do this on the rg405v?

The only equivalent of pcsx2 is lrps2 for libretro (retroarch)

Thanks retroacrch is already installed in rg405v. How can I set it up so it becomes default ps2 emulator and not the aether?

Does anyone have video proof that retroarch is better than aethersx2 for ps2 emulation? All i can find is that its better for older games. Or any instructions on how to toggle between the two emulators?

Surprised this forum doesn't have have a handheld gaming console thread( or in my case anbernicrg405v) given how popular they are these days

It depends on the platform you're playing like PCSX2 on PC, AetherSX2 or NetherSX2 on Android. As for the thread, there is a thread about Retro Handheld like this one https://retrogametalk.com/threads/retro-handhelds-general-thread.125/page-7 where some would mentioned Anbernic products or the others, even the exact same model like yours (Anbernic RG405V)

Hi all, Has anyone experienced playing a ps2 rom on Anbernic rg405v (which uses aethersx2) where they can't proceed past a certain level, and how did they fix it? For me the problem is getting past level 2 of Gradius, when I finish that level (stage 5) it reverts back to the save state menu...

Thanks, I finally found the solution ( posted on the other thread), it's a 'challenge' built into the actual game itself
