Seems that every forum has a general chat thread, so let's start one here.

In case you aren't clear about what this is, I'll just quote a friend from another site:

For posts that aren't really worth starting a whole thread for, but that would also be more than a status update. Kinda like random thoughts you had.

I'll start with a classic: I swear... the literal second I'm done getting all my winter clothing away for the year, that dang season decides to have one last hurrah. Thank goodness procrastination got a hold of me before I finished with the jackets and the bedding.

In my part of Canada, it's the opposite right now; fall refuses to give out to winter. Last week, in early November, we had a nearly 20° day (in Celsius of course). We're hitting mid November and there has yet to be a single falling flake of snow, which has got me a little concerned as to how bad the winter is going to be when it finally hits this time.

I don't know why but sometimes I feel too tired to even wake up and just wanted to sleep for one day whether that'd be because of the weather or I'm just that tired

Do you practice any outdoor sports? It can help, at least it did for me.

^ Hiking or just going around listening to your favorite tunes can help, too. You are burning energy without actually realizing it, and can soon settle into a routine where you just want to keep on going.

Yeah I do but not as frequently because the weather is pretty bad here

Won't do hiking though since there aren't any near me but I'll try do something similar
Didn't know that just by listening to some musics can help

Yeah, my friend calls it "active recovery", and it's actually a really good way to keep your body going whilst also keeping its stress levels down. I often do it after a dancing or just when I want to get some work in without actually engaging on a full workout.

I have even turned into a game of "how many songs I can go through" before heading back :)

That's fun, will try that aswell

Sometimes it is necessary to take courage and face even bad weather!😉

Ever noticed how most "mascot" characters were yellow during the Monster era of the late nineties and early aughts? There's Pikachu, Agumon, Metabee, that thing from Monster Rancher, the little robot from Sonic (although I'm not sure it counts)... I wonder why that is.

Weirdly enough the weather gets a lot better in the tropics during the winter. From sweltering heat and constant tropical storms to mild rain and a comfortable 70-80 degree weather.

Mild rain? I wish. Here at my city the sky was falling 4 days ago. The streets were flooded, my university got flooded and my house almost got flooded and the electrical circuit got damp so only 2 lightbulbs could be switched on at a time or they would start flickering, the electrical outlets from the right side of the house died and my fridge got a nice shower under all droplets falling from the ceiling. Everything got fixed but if it rains like that again, i doubt this house will hold on for another 30 years.

But yeah, the weather is nicer around this time of the year. It's been so hot lately, 2 people at my university died because of the heat.

Dang sorry to hear that about the heat. Yes, humidity is still a problem. "Mild rain" is relative, it has been raining for days, but it is considerably better than tropical storms. The streets around here get flooded if it rains for a few days straight but other than that it has been ok.

The problem with the flooding is exacerbated by government incompetence. No one cleans the gutters from debris after storms, so the storm channels get clogged. Nothing can be done about that, unfortunately. The voters in my country keep voting for the same idiots and expecting things to improve.

We're not getting any real rain. It rained a little bit a couple days ago. But my area is in a drought. Some farmers in New Jersey requested a block of rain songs today on the radio. It's been really dry for months.

It's chilly now. But it's been unseasonably warm for most of the month. I've never had this many bug bites in November.

True, wish I was that brave

I'll take advantage of this thread to tell you all how much I appreciate the site and how much it means to someone like me who is fairly introverted and has few acquaintances, it instills a sense of coziness and closeness to the community that I find has been mostly lost in the modern internet.

Here's a mildly related fun fact I remember reading a while ago, yellow paint is the cheapest one to produce, at least for cars or so. So technically, printing a yellow character might be cheaper. LOL.

You know what? I remember how the Digimon people started designing the Fusion characters to be easy to produce as action figures, with super wide stances and other features that would be easy to put on plastic molds, so I wouldn't doubt that was actually the reason XD

today I woke up with a dislocated finger

apparently I turned over in my sleep and my body squished my hand and my finger bent the wrong way,
the most surprising is that it didn't wake me up at all instead I slept for 6 hours, and during those 6 hours I apparently slept with a dislocated finger probably flopping around whenever I turn.

Ouch...man...like you don't even feel it bend?
But if you don't mind, do you have a photo of it? (Even though it already sounds really painful)

didn't have the time to take a photo since I was running late for class, so I just bent it back to its place and took a quick shower then went to school.
I did regret not taking a pic of it tho halfway to school.

Oh no worries, but damn like did you not feel anything? Bend it back like it's an everyday thing lol

if i don't bend it back then its just gonna get worse later.
besides that I was part of the boys scout growing up and was thrown in the forest during high school, teaching us how to survive and do first aid.
My scout master taught us that pain is temporary and that it shouldn't impair you from doing something about it.
which make sense dude was a retired special forces.

I have a comedy show recommendation if anyone in the cafe is in the mood; I watched all six episodes (it got cancelled early as it was very far ahead of its time) of Garth Marenghi's Darkplace night and I'm still laughing at it. It's a British absurdist comedy essentially from the early 2000s, sort of has a 'show in a show' framing going on and gets a little meta, but not distractingly so like a lot of meta humour is nowadays. Some of the people from the show IT Crowd are in it, which is another show I recommend. It's a spoof of early-mid 90s hospital shows, but also a riff on shitty horror writers and anthology shows and like I said I'm still laughing at some of it. Highly recommend, 10/10; all six episodes are on YouTube.

Ah the LORE, it all makes sense now
I agree though, that adrenaline helped...for awhile
