Seems that every forum has a general chat thread, so let's start one here.

In case you aren't clear about what this is, I'll just quote a friend from another site:



I'll start with a classic: I swear... the literal second I'm done getting all my winter clothing away for the year, that dang season decides to have one last hurrah. Thank goodness procrastination got a hold of me before I finished with the jackets and the bedding.

I keep mine in my room because it was warm through most of the year but i needed sweaters for winter. That way i can just switch them in a container for next summer.

I was thinking about the so-called "Golden Era" of YouTube (2008-16) and how fun it was...

You had the billion AVGN wannabes (whom were only entertaining because not of their quality, but of their lack thereof), you had Machinima aggregating content like crazy, you had iDubbbz's Content Cop, you had the animators, you had those godawful reaction channels, you had that "Drama Alert" crap, you had those weird MCNs like "Unknown Reviewers" which came into existence --and vanished-- overnight, you had edgy stuff like I Hate Everything, and you had a lot of smaller channels making a dent here and there.

It's amazing to me how some of that stuff was even allowed on the platform, and how most of it has been completely wiped off the site.

Nowadays the only things I'm able to enjoy on YouTube are Overanalyzing Avatar, Ross's Game Dungeon and some video essays. Feels like a half a step, not really forward nor backward.

I thought a good way to welcome new users would be to have a space like this. In this thread you can feel free to talk about anything and switch topics at a whim without stress of commitment to previous topic. You can go from talking about life, to your favorite food, to your favorite Godzilla movie, to a game you really wanna play to a Cartoon Network show you watched as a kid at a moment’s notice and it’ll be fine!

This is common across multiple forums I visit so it felt it make sense to have this casual free space for people who need it. Also great if you wanna bring up something quick that doesn’t require a thread but you still wanna mention it anyways then move on (which makes it great for hyper active brains like mine)

I’ll start. So uhhh… it’s getting kinda late? I couldn’t get any gaming in today cuz I got kinda busy. I also got caught up greeting all the newcomers. What a day! But I’ll probably be gaming on my Xbox tomorrow at least.

Actually this is a fantastic opportunity to test how polls work… if I figure out how they work haha.

It's getting to the point in the year around here where it gets dark by early evening and it's doing a number on my sleep schedule. I got back from work around 2pm and fell asleep for a few hours and woke up to pitch black and now I just want to sleep again. Glad that it's finally cold up here though, it finally snowed last week.
