Got a good deal on a Ryzen 7 with integrated graphics and 32GB memory - has anyone had experience running gen 6 emulators on that chipset, and if so what are some good titles to try? Mainly interested in action/ARPG type games, but anything you think is worth playing would work. So far it handles PCSX2 quite well with no issues at 60fps 3x resolution, I just need ideas on what to play now that I can finally play something past gen 5.

try out as many games as you can. xbox might give your computer a work out. its nearly paradoxical to get it to work.

you can also try out colossal caverns, a pikmin 2 mod. it loads every dungeon piece, 200 enemies, 200 pieces of treasure and 100-200 individual pikmin all at the same time.

that's for pcsx2, its a mix of various games, from various genres, just to know

in no order

- ff12 and 10
- valkyrie profile 2: slimeria
- kingdom hearts 2
- wild arms 5 and 4
- tales of the abyss and tales of destiny: director's cut
- megaman x: command mission
- legaia 2
- the orphen game
- odin sphere
- grandia 3
- shining force exa
- musashi: samurai legend
- rogue galaxy
- swords of destiny
- shinobi
- bujingai
- genji
- 7 blades
- onimusha games
- seven samurai 20xx
- the castlevania games
- nanobreaker

- robot alchemic drive

PS2 I've had the hardest time emulating, maybe i just don't want to dish out that much money on a GPU, keep my systems under $1000 in cost (so in theory they are $1,600 machines).

I look forward to the upcoming miniPC's/gaming machines that will be strong enough (and affordable too) to do the PS2, but also the PS3 and XBox360 and be able to enjoy the old classics without a red ring of death, and give Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft a middle finger since they don't feel like supporting 'old' hardware.. (heh, Xbox/Xbox360/PS2/PS3/PS4/Gamecube aren't old... but whatever).

Vita3k should be fine, but if you really want to test that system's limits you'll have to try rpcs3, for a benchmark of pcsx2 you'd run zone of the enders 2 or shadow of the collosus. those 2 if i remember right are the hardest to run games on pcsx2.

Running MGS3 at 1080p on PCSX2 made a small increase in CPU temp - now an hour in and no signs of distress

You can google the "model of your cpu + passmark", there you can see your CPU Single Thread Rating. With that you can roughly guess what systems you can emulate.
Around 1000 points: Anything up to Dreamcast Excluding Saturn.
Around 1800-2000: Pretty much anything excluding PS3.
Around 2500: Lighter PS3 games like Demon Souls.
3000 and beyond: Heavy PS3 games.
