I meant dusting off my PS1 copy, but that's probably a better idea in the long-term!

i don't have my ps1 anymore, but i still have the disc for forbidden memories. still got a ps2 though.
in any case, meadow mage should be your primary target for farming for the last third of the game. he drops all sorts of good monsters like the dark magician, gaia the fierce knight, skull knight and even supposedly metor b. dragon, according to this website.

I've got the PS2 & PS3 to play it on. That's fair. I'm 100% positive I never made it up to him as a kid! I can't remember if I even got past that tournament partway through.

yeah, this game is very weird. it's the prototype for the entire card game. so it has lots of quirks and a lot of unfair bullshit in it. i usually got up to the mages and would get stuck there. i did a few times get stuck in the tournament too. the difficulty level is bizarre, like pokemon gold and silver. you're supposed to add more and more spell and trap cards to your deck and do a crazy amount of experiments on which cards in your deck fuse together and keep trying for better and better fusions.
duel master k uses whatever card that you have in your deck to duel you with, so if you want to see what your deck is fully capable of, duel him whenever you make some changes to your deck. you will usually learn something new every time.
