So what are some gaming IPs that are wasted in your Opinion and that maybe you think that you could do a better job than the current owners of the Ips.
So what Gaming IP hurts you the most when you see the wasted potential or just plain stupid decisions made with that IP.

My Opinions is that Little Big Planet and Fallout are wasted IPs Little Big Planet because they killed of this IP and Fallout because of many bad Decisions made

Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Conker, Mega Man, Spyro The Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Parappa The Rapper, Bomberman, Phantasy Star, Shining Force, F-Zero, StarFox, Rayman...
The sad thing is the list could be so much longer and its not shrinking either

Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve, their respective developers/publishers really screwed up both of its third installment.
I came here to post this.
Parasite Eve will never get a re-release due to licensing over the original novel. Which is ironic since Hideaki Sena loves the first game. The Third Birthday sucks because (Other than the quantum leap plot) it had to skirt around this licensing. Square Enix is cheap.

As for Dino Crisis. Capcom just hates us. They've cancelled at least two proposed remakes.

Anyway. Hot take:
Shenmue
Not having Shenmue 3 be the finale is peak developer delusion. Yu Suzuki fumbled a miracle and the odds of us ever getting Shenmue 4 is infinitesimally small.
Shenmue is amazing, but by God its hard to recommend it retroactively because it just perpetually exists unfinished.
And it will forever be unfinished because Yu Suzuki won't let go of his original five or six game plan. Man wanted it to have 16 "chapters" before Sega forced him to scale it back to "11".
His original plan for Shenmue 2 was for it to be exclusively the journey from Japan to China. Being on the ship would have been the whole game. ::hellmo
He had never had plans to make it episodic by the way. The maniac wanted AAA development for each instalment. Shenmue 3 suffered from this.
Yu Suzuki is a creative who clearly NEEDS restraints to complete a project.

But at least we got the Shenmue the Animation, that rocks.

Shenmue III lacked Sega. It needed that. There were no posters of VF, no arcade games, no gachapon of AM2 characters... It lacked a part of what made Shenmue Shenmue. Yu Suzuki worked on all those old games too. Instead we got nothing but busywork and mini games with little pieces of furniture and vehicles replacing Sega characters as prizes. Blah. So bland. So boring.

Whist you're right- Considering Shenmue 3 (mostly) takes pace in Rural China. Not Kowloon or Yokosuka. That's an environment where not having arcade games & sega collectables be readily available would have made sense.
Then you could have focused Shenmue 3 on defeating Lan Di, training, researching the mystical history of Phoenix Mirror, deliberately confront his goons to bait him into a confrontation, then having the finale be a cathartic 1v1 where you avenge your father and have it end with a nice epilogue.
But nope.

I hesitate to call Shenmue 3 90% filler, I enjoyed the game for being "cozy" but man I don't think I could argue against such a statement.

it's not the end. That's why Ryo didn't defeat Lan Di. Eyepatch Wolf was the only one who said it was supposed to be the end and it wasn't. Yu Suzuki said before how long Shenmue was supposed to be. Shenmue III is the middle of the saga. It's not the final chapter. Ryo isn't defeating Lan Di yet. He's in over his head like Luke challenging Vader at the end of Empire Strikes Back and getting his hand cut off. Yoda warned him but he didn't listen and his loss humbled him. He got better by the next movie and became a Jedi Master. I'm just saying you guys all overreacted and made up some bullshit about Shenmue being a trilogy when it never was. You missed the whole point.

Dragon Age. Even though I grew to like Inquisition a bit more than when it came out, it just doesn't feel nor look like a Dragon Age game for me. To be fair, it gets close sometimes, but not fully. The biggest problem is its structure, which was a compromise made after the game got converted from an MMO to a single player experience. Farming fetch quests to advance the main story is the worst gamedesign you can possibly have imo. You'd think EA higher ups would learn from these mistakes and allow devs to do their jobs, right? But no, Veilguard had literally the same troubled development, probably even worse. It started as a live service game and was turned into a single player very late in development, so devs had to do their best to keep up with EA's stupid decisions. And yeah we all know the results. Obviously it didn't deserve all the hate, and drama farmers should be isolated from the internet, but it was clearly not what hardcore fans wanted.

CoD should die at this point I think time and money been wasted on it for over a decade at this point.

Assassin creed should just die also waste money and time on and they just use it to spread hate at this point.

Borderland I waste should ended with the second game.

Man I could same so many at this point.

CoD might get it's second wind if we wind up in WWIII

Yu Suzuki said before how long Shenmue was supposed to be. Shenmue III is the middle of the saga.
And this is why I called Shenmue 3 peak developer delusion.
Because Shenmue 4 isn't going to happen, Yu Suzuki is 67 years old, and even if a second miracle gets us a Shenmue 4. That won't be the finale either. Repeat with diminishing returns. 🫠
Shenmue III should have been the finale because it was the opportunity for the story to have a finale.

We can't blame Sega or Deep Silver. It was Yu's creative decision.
You don't bait a sequel in what's an (unfortunately) niche product.

Yu Suzuki is the headmaster of the game design department.

Fallout
Shit was flanderized to the point of no recognition
Not to mention whole franchise was runed to the ground
Definitely a massive waste
Bethesda just never understood Fallout and it shows

IMO Fallout used a decent amount of its potential outside of Bethesda's fake rubbish Fallout games so I don't think Fallout series is "wasted", it was just its recent identity is ruined by Bethesda which there is a clear difference for me. The only potential left for it is adding building car and driving it features, even helicopter and plane and even mech or something like that to make it "better than Mad Max" lol. Naturally when it is a Fallout universe it doesn't really make sense to walk everywhere for it ain't a walk in the park!!! That's why you could have a car in Fallout 2 but it was just a way for quicker travelling around the huge map and it also offered additional storage capacity.

Instead I would think of game IPs that existed either as a sole game or huge series that neither of these games were "playable" because the developer really didn't care to make it a game that uses a decent potential to actually make this game idea useful. In that context I would say No Man's Sky as my most disappointing "waste of IP" example, and rest of these are my other most dissappointments.

- No Man's Sky initially released as a lie that so many features they said it had weren't in the game and wouldn't be in the game after many years since its release date. As a result despite so many updates for a long time they couldn't manage to make it a game still to this day. At most it's just a program with "craft to survive, survive to craft" game loop BS. It has an infinite number of planets without any real reason to actually go to them other than time waster tasks like "find this" and "do this", et cetera.

- Far Cry series. Back then I said "damn Far Cry series has a great potential" in 2nd game due to its realistic simulation like "island survival simulator" gameplay but afterwards they just shit on the series for good in other games. I would expect them to explore "survival simulator on wild island" idea further.

- Dark Cloud series. In 2nd game you can take picture of objects to craft stuff but it was advertized as "invention of your novel ideas", however it doesn't feel like a significant "good execution feature" at all. It just serves as a purpose to upgrade your gear while one would expect you to create your own crazy guns or something lol. It also had a purpose to craft stuff to build a town that was an unnecessary feature for such a game IMO.

- X-treme Express: World Grand Prix: It's a non-serious train racing game on PS2 but too bad it doesn't have train drifting feature and developers don't care to develop a new game that has train drifting!!! Me dissappointed for the day I bought it, me poor PS2 is without train racing game that has train drifting lolol.

Absolutely !
While F3 was the remains of the rather serious and bleak setting and New Vegas the remains of its wide and deep roleplay elements , F4 was the ultimate suicide run which ruined everything of its setting beyond believe and its roleplay-elements .

F1 is still the best how it was depicted while F2 actually aint that bad overall and still works ( with some flaws , even in its story ) .

We are finally due for a great spiritual successor that stays in its bleak and very atmosspheric tone while it is a mix of horror , pulp and action that made it outstanding . Combine that with another time-line that beefs up the setting like the 80s as an example and we got maybe the best spiritual successor . Fallout always played with the songnames of Rock & heavy metal bands then why not going a step further and make it really cool like the 80s ?

Mega Man X - Fuck classic Mega Man. It already got 11 games and hasn't been good since Mega Man 8

Strider - Certainly would be fun to see it back now considering recent ninja comebacks.

Maximo - I don't care if the main Ghouls n Ghost/Ghosts n Goblins IP stays dead and buried, but there is far too much fun to be had with Maximo to not bring it back.

Final Fight - I could easily design one better than all three SNES installments. We've yet to see the full potential of this series. It has always lagged way behind the Streets of Rage series.

Eternal Darkness - So much potential with the unique combat system and cool things you could do with insanity effects on modern hardware, especially if it was a VR game. I also miss those awesome sounding chants for the magic spells.

Space Channel 5 - Fuck PaRappa, I miss Ulala.

Battletoads - Such a phenomenal IP that has always been wasted from overly difficult older games to whatever the hell that most recent installment was. I could take this IP and make games that would blow away every single Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game ever made.

Klonoa - We need more cutesy platformers. Klonoa was always kind of unique.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Holy shit do we need a game like this in our current times. Just a fun, ballsy, none politically correct, adult style platformer. Oh the fun you could have spoofing modern movies too.

Castlevania - I mean, wouldn't you love to live in a world where Castlevania becomes awesome again and yet you still have Igarashi giving us Bloodstained games?

I found that Video Regarding Bethesda and Fallout
I also liked those Videos
Also that Video is Interesting

Colony Wars. The third game wasn't even a proper third entry, just a sidequel to the second game, where you play as a nobody on the periphery of the war. It's an interesting setting, but Sony let it live and die on the PSX.

Too bad Bethesda was really a good western CRPG developer, but then they realized Americans want pew pew action so they even ruined The Elder Scrolls series with Skyrim that is a bad copy-paste of Oblivion with more action gameplay + gamemap change lol. They just figured instead of a "really RPG" Americans like action game with RPG elements which is why video game industry left real RPGs behind and started to develop fake RPGs too.
