Gaming Headcanons

My personal Pokemon headcanon is that Kanto is specifically known as the most technologically-advanced of all the regions in the series, with Johto being its quirky backwards neighbour country full of hicks and Orre being the gritty criminal underworld that no decent person wants to visit. I hate how all the new games' settings are just "IT'S LIKE A REAL COUNTRY, WITH POKEMON TO MATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
this is true. kanto and jhoto are real world locations that are like this. kanto is more developed while jhoto is more rural. johto is a made up name it seems but i found this snippet on google:

"The Johto region takes after Japan's Kansai region, a highly-populated area famous for its food and historical sites. Various in-game locations, such as Olivine City and Goldenrod City, are seemingly based on the real-world cities of Kobe and Osaka, respectively."

The VAST majority of the game is based on the plot that a great even rose in the distant past, defeated Goddess Hylia's champion, and was sealed by the Goddess herself, becoming The Imprisoned.
Not quite. When Hylia defeated Demise the first time and sealed him away, there wasn't any champion present. Hylia created Skyloft and bodied Demise all by herself. The problem is that she couldn't kill him permanently and the fight weakened her to the point that she would lose if she had to face him again. It was then that she needed a mortal champion to use the Triforce to destroy him.

That doesn't go against what I said, though. Originally, Hylia, with the other 6 races, defeated & sealed Demise. Later, Not-Aganhim unsealed Demise after dragging Zelda into the past once Link squished The Avocado. Demise then gets confronted by Link - the first Hylian to not run in terror from him. Now, that's the important part. The Goddess' champion was a Hylian. Link is the first and only Hylian to confront Demise.

In the game opening, and all up to that moment, the Chosen Champion was said to have fallen to Demise (that's what the ceremony in the game opening is all about, recall), which lead to Hylia (now known as Zelda) to Avocado him, which resulted in her eventually re-incarnating herself as a mortal to guide Link into becoming her Chosen Champion (which she apologized for earlier in the game). From there, Link either dies and Skyward Sword (and my head canon of BotW/TotK then happen), or Link kills Demise, thus the ending of Skyward Sword, the Curse of Demise, and the rest of the series.

Which also means that, no matter the reality, Ganondorf is always a power-mad jackass.

Link dies like a bitch, Zelda turns Demise into a giant avocado, seals him away, leading to Skyward Sword. As Link is dead (and Hylia gets reincarnated eventually as a Hylian herself), no Hyrule can be born after Link and Zelda disappear into the past after The Imprisoned got guacamole'd.
So how far in the past are they traveling? Because this seems to be implying that when Link and Zelda go to the past, they go back all the way to the beginning, e.g. the time before Hylia sealed Demise.

I'm sorry, what? What part of...

...says Link & Zelda travelled to before Demise was originally sealed? There is a clear Before & After here. "Originally" and "Later." I'm not creating a bloody flow chart for your reading comprehension ability.

Kamek as a father figure was established in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and Yoshi's Island DS. He runs the Koopa army in Bowser's stead as baby Bowser isn't old enough to do it himself, fusses over him when he's throwing a tantrum or wants something (in Partners in Time, it was cookies and Kamek made sure to give baby Bowser "evil milk" to wash them down), tries to intercept threats during naptime, and tends to Bowser's wounds when he's been beaten.
Not to mention Super Mario RPG, where the brainwashed magikoopa you fight as a boss in Bowser's castle toward the end of the game thinks "That's...my child" if you use Mallow's Psychopath on him.

My Pokemon headcannon is that Fairy type Pokémon like Clefairy didn't just have that typing added to them retroactively. Typing isn't just some game abstraction or a Pokémon classification system, it's an energy that exists in the world that you can even find in certain stones. When AZ fired the ultimate weapon to revive his Floette 3000 years ago, Fairy type energy was disrupted worldwide and has only recently begun to normalize again.

¿How the heck you made sense of the retcons and misconnections?

Yeah, sorry dude; I genuinely cannot follow your headcanon. Oh well ::cirnoshrug

Is there a reason that the CDi games can’t be part of the canon timeline? Because I’d really like them to be. They don’t conflict with anything in the Hyrule Historia, right?

no. we are not allowed to have nice things. that's why.

In Castlevania, the strength and endurance a human can achieve go beyond the capabilities of a ordinary human, a little akin to shounen animes, although few manage to do that.

In mean, in the Dracula fight from the Netflix series, if I recall correctly a simple slap from Dracula is enough to knock Trevor down, which feels off in comparison to what you experience in games, or to the whole deal that Belmonts should be able to face Dracula toe to toe.

In case of those related to Sypha Belnades, their superhuman endurance comes from their magic instead.

Quirrel
is still alive, he only went for a swin in the Blue Lake and his nail is there because he didn't wanted it to get rusty

I'm a subscriber to the "Squall is dead" theory even if the devs already denied it. It just makes it easier for me wrap my head around the crazy stuff that happens later. The website is still up too.

I refuse to accept any other theory. In my mind Squall is dead. It's like Carnival of Souls. But with a card game. :loldog

My version of Link is a little on the dumb side. He gets the job done. But the boy can barely tie his shoes. That's why he wears boots. I blame those facial expressions from OoT. I know he's just a kid at first and then 17 year old Link kinda emerges from a long slumber with no experience in between. That's gotta set you back more than a few paces.
the bowser jr one is pretty plausible.

the zelda one is weirder. it is canon that all of the timelines lead up to breath of the wild, regardless of how little that makes sense. it is supposed to be so far down on the timeline, that all of the previous games are as distant in the past as the period of time zelda lands in during totk.

All roads lead to Rome. I guess it's easier than dealing with that convoluted timeline stuff again and again.

While it's a fine headcanon I don't really like when some people claims that one is LGBT merely because the game does not focus on the hero having romantic interest with the main girl.

There are other female characters in the franchise and I'd say that romance isn't the main focus of the series therefore it's not telling anything about the possible orientation of the character.

I always paired Link with Malon. ::heart

What guy would Link be into? I guess he could date a Zora. Or that guy in TP that runs the star game. I always liked him. I headcanon him as having a very stereotypical game show host voice.

it's mainly because story doesn't matter to miyamoto; who is the person most dev teams listen to. gameplay takes priority over everything else. that's why botw and totk barely have any story elements in them. and also the reason why the major flaws in both games exist.
same thing for mario games. they will never get past the most basic story line because that is all you need to justify the gameplay and mechanics.

Gee, I don’t know any video games where the protagonist’s head is a cannon. 𖠞

I never liked the timeline stuff to begin with. I remember playing TP and being "What timeline is this again? Who cares". Same with WW. It's just easier to focus on the individual games. I'd rather have a fun game.

it would have been better if they didn't try to fit everything onto a timeline. they could have just left it as vague legends being told over time in different places slowly being changed over time and location. like the wind waker timeline being told by people who live by the ocean or an ocean island. the bad timeline being stories told by people who live in wastelands, the twilight princess timeline being told by those who live near the twilight mirror sanctuary. that would have been better. they could al be retellings of the same story but influenced by different cultures and regions.
