Games you replayed a hundred times?

ayo melly waddahell? It's jeriko lmfao. wild nice to see you

n e way i've played vanguard bandits more than I'd care to admit. it's the one I think of when this topic comes up bc I don't even hold vanguard bandits in particularly high regard or... like it that much. It just sunk its claws into me at a young age.
No wayyyy haha how is up!! I'm pleasantly (un?)surprised to see another old rpg maker degenerate here haha great to see you

(i just came off a vanguard bandits kick too, i think i summoned you lmao)

I've probably sank a thousand hours, likely more, into Kingdom Hearts & Kingdom Hearts 2 over the last 20 years. Them and FFX are my definitive yearly games.

There aren't any games that I've replayed "hundreds of times." There are barely any that I've played more than once.

But of those, off the top of my head:
  • Spyro the Dragon
  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  • Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
  • Pokémon Fire Red / Leaf Green
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Fallout 3
I'm not really one to revisit media—whether that's TV shows, movies, games, books, or anything else. I'm mostly "one and done."

big action and turn based stuff guy so im always playind dmc, one and three, darkest dungeon, dark souls(remastered for convenience even though i prefer PTDE), max payne 2 when im in that specific mood and the one roguelike i actually enjoy, slay the spire.

The first Dark Souls and Bloodborne. When I don't know what to play, I just boot them. They feel like comfort food to me.

I've played Chrono Cross (PS1) and Tales of Symphonia (Gamecube) over 50 times each, and Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1 & PSP) over 20 times.

Lots of other games I've played 5-10 times straight-through like the Mario series, Zelda, Megaman X, Final Fantasy and other such popular series, and several less popular ones sparsely here and there with other particular games throughout the Nintendo and other companies consoles from throughout the years, though I mainly play Nintendo, Famicom Disk System games and Super Nintendo.

sonic rush and sa2. i can replay those at the drop of a hat no problem

so im not really done with the game (when i say not done i mean i havent done 100% of what i can do, i find a game to be completed after you get every achievement or rank or whatever) but i keep replaying Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. its a game from my childhood, and its honestly fun. its childish, its funny, its gimmicky and you need a solid bit of time to 100% the game.

the reason why i find PvZGW2 so fun might also be because i put a lot of meaning in stuff i enjoy. everything has some sort of meaning and special place in my heart. PvZ is the first game i played so its always like looking at childhood pictures and reminiscing for me (even though i dont enjoy looking at my childhood pictures lol. but its nostalgic thats for sure.) i put meanings and i give so much love into stuff. idk what makes me do it, but some stuff i see to be very important and emotionally fullfilling

Man PVZ is really good game kinda cool they made it into a shooter and a Tower defense game one can't forget the backyard night chapters with fog

games i have replayed 100 times minimum? i don't think any at all
my favourite genre is the role playing game and those games are quite long
unless the arcade mode in fighting games count, in that case everything from third strike and king of fighters 98 to virtua fighter 3 and tekken tag tournament 2

It ain't that retro, but definitely Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin and its sequel Dark Souls 3. These were the 2 main games I would always boot up on my PS4 because they were just that addicting. I loved the gameplay loop, the different areas to explore, the atmosphere and feeling of dread every corner, and of course the combat. They're both drastically different as 3 feels more like a real successor of the 1st game, while 2 SOTFS feels like a reimagining of Demon's Souls. I ended up filling up all 10 character slots for both games with different builds, achieved the platinum trophy on both, and beat each of those games about 12 times each. I even beat 2 without resting at a bonfire to nab a special ring meant to show off your bragging rights. Dark Souls 2 SOTFS I also reached above 1000 hours with 3 having about 6-8 hundred.

As for retro games I could play forever, it would have to be classic Mega Man. I have beaten Mega Man 2, 3, 4, and 6 numerous times as a child as those were the ones I revisited often (I didn't like 1 or 5 as much, never beat 7, and 8 I only beat once). Something about the platforming, charming graphics, and gameplay loop has been my favorite of the series. About 20 years strong of playing them too.

Then of course there's Pokémon as at least one game in each generation up to gen 7 I've beaten at least 3 times. Gen 3 specifically I've beaten each game in it at least twice. Always using different teams and strats to shake up replay value.

The original Unreal, on normal difficulty though. It's been a chillout game for me for years, especially when I had a bad week I just casually go through It.

The visuals still hold up, and most of the music Is just perfection. And yet every playthrough there's still a chance of me finding something new. Desptie getting older, and my visual/psych/mental health being on a decline I can still go through It smoothly In a breeze, bet If I had Amnesia It could cure It In the nice way.

I don't really care much for Return to Na Pali. But there are some great communtiy made maps/campaigns out there.

The last level of this one has some good music by actual bands. Feels more like a reward than to go with whatever theme was In mind.

Final Fantasy VIII, Devil May Cry 3, Dissidia Duodecim, Persona 4, Phantasy Star Portable 1 and 2
And I finally stopped playing Stardew Valley after 630 hours on my profile.

Sonic the hedgehog 1
And shadow the hedgehog because it's required lol

Wario land 1 ❤️
I used to lose all my brothers hard earned tresures because his save file had my favourite levels unlocked. I always loved watching the map and levels change as you progress such as the beach flooding or the teapot volcano triggering.

TES III: Morrowind

I broke my tooth on a trip when I was a child, the only tought I would have "I'ts ok, I have Morrowind back at home, everything is fine..." I'ts my confort game ever since I discover it, every now and then I install to chill, mess with mods and autistically play around in Vvardenfell.

Wario Land II for me. I had it on the OG Game Boy before it was colorized. I actually found everything in the game including in the branching paths. It was in my top 5 for sure! Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins also. Found out you could use the bunny ears to float endlessly inside the bubble without having to mash the A button.
