Games you regret spending money on

Resident Evil 3 Remake is why we can't have nice things. it is an annoying step backwards from the 2 remake ,or even 7/8
Definitely feels like a DLC Add-On to RE2 Remake. RE3 Remake is so embarrassingly short. Not helped by the fact that it was done by the B-Team at Capcom.

Forza Horizon 5 because while I like Forza Motorsport 7, Horizon 5 plays too much like an arcade racer with way less cars and an uninteresting map.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition because after playing a little over two hours of the first game I remembered that all the space gobbledygook is uninteresting and the game is made up of long cutscenes devoting to nothing but uninteresting space gobbledygook. But because Valve said I played the game too long and couldn't get a refund, I played through the trilogy and found that I was correct.

ARMA Reforger because I bought it on sale thinking there would be antistasi support made, but while support is slowly coming to fruition, I bought it way too early.

Resident Evil 3 remake because I didn't check that they removed Nemesis' randomized movement and the new visual style is unappealing to me.

The one game that always comes to mind is BATTLEFIELD 3 for the Xbox 360. It wasn't a bad game or anything, but I bought it full price and unfortunately it released around that time when me and my friends all just started college and basically everyone had either ditched online games all together or jumped to PC gaming. I didn't have a good PC for another few years and had no one to play it with and maybe played three matches. Miserable experience all around due to the circumstances.

Though the REAL worst thing about it all? Absolutely no resale or trade-in value due to it also releasing in the time when every game had a one time use code to activate the ability to play it. I was stuck with a wasted $60+ on a game I played three times.

The one that always comes to mind for me is Neverdead.

I knew it wasn't gonna be a masterpiece going in, but I was at least hoping for a fun, jank, and cheesy C-Tier hack and slash. I had such an awful time with it and never touched it again after the first time. It wasn't "So bad, it's good", it was just bad.
I actually wanted a copy of this so badly when I learned about it lol

I remember thinking it looked so bad it was funny, but my friend who actually played it refused to let me get it. Literally took it out of my hands at the store and said "DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID"

Kind of regret buying it not because of the single player, but because of the 300+hrs I sunk into online despite all the hackers making that mode frustrating as all hell to play and enjoy.

fire emblem 3 houses. i used to be sort of into the series but that entry killed any interest i had going forward.

I can hardly remember which but I think that regretting for something like a videogame isn't an issue by itself.

I'd rather regret spending money on food or something more important.

Not exactly a REGRET, but I felt betrayed when I spent a good money on a physical copy of the Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin for the PS3 and turns out the PS3 version doesn't have all the enhancements, remixes and DLC integrations of the (then) current gen.

I already did 100% on both PS4 and Steam and the regular version on PS3 at the time but didn't even finished this one (because I already did technically). Now I have two copies of the same game, one of them being expensive af.

When I heard this was coming, I thought DAMM with refined controls and shit. "It's Namco. Why not?" UGH.... I was so lazy, I never went back to trade it in. I'd forgotten I still have it. Now it's worth something? Wait... What?

I still have my sealed copy I bought for R$ 20 (~$3.50) back in 2017 or 2018, and a digital copy too, bought when they made a sale right before pulling out of the digital stores.

Shin Megami Tensei V (original and vengeance), easy games with a pretty bad story and meh characters. Things that I loved about past SMTS where absent. I originally returned my copy of the original but then re bought it since it was 15 dollars.

Jump Force, pretty self explanatory

Persona 5 Royal, decided to give modern persona a 6th try. It slightly improves on persona 5 but a lot of problems I had still persisted.

I have a feeling I'm about to see more collector's editions in here. Inb4 someone comes in with the MvC Infinite Easter eggs or an LRG release.
I don't have that kind of story, but how about ~$125 for the original release of Dragonball GT Final Bout? That one still stings.

I am so curious as to how it even cost that much (assuming this isn't inflation).

The original 1997 US release for DBGT was less common than a lot of other games on the PS1. So second-hand copies shot up in price back then. It was actually $150, but I got it down some with store credit. Then a few years later, Atari got the DB rights and reissued it with different boxart and whatnot for like $14.99. I'd argue that even paying $14.99 is too much, but I had that collector mindset at the time. ::cirnoshrug
