Games You Finished in 2025

Welp, I guess I'll just wait until next year since I got a bad start this one.

I finished Rise Eterna War yesterday. I recently bought a Switch, so I picked up a handful of cheap games from the store to try it out.

The game itself isn't bad, except for the ending, which was particularly disappointing. I was hoping the game would have a plot twist similar to Spec Ops: The Line, where the general, after defeating the invading forces, realized that his self-righteous crusade brought nothing but destruction and misery to the land he so desperately wanted to liberate. It would have been a much better ending, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

It's to keep a running list throughout the year so I can tally it all up next January.

For me, I've only finished one game so far. Bad start.

1. Nobody Wants to Die (PC) - Score: 8/10
If it makes you feel any better, I’m in the same boat. I’m trying to beat my second game (not counting replays)

Finished my New Game + run of Fate/Samurai Remnant.

Yeah, I really love this game, and I highly recommend it. I pretty much fell in love with it all over again upon this playthrough. (Not that I didn't love it in the first place)

Finished Singularity and Judgment.

I didn't know if Singularity was any good, but I was surprised. I miss the shorter linear shooters from this era of games. Syndicate, Timeshift, Red Faction Armageddon, The Darkness. It fits into the mold of games like this.

Judgment maintains the Yakuza quality, a solid story, although very similar to their other stories in structure. Yagami grows on you, and I am looking forward to Lost Judgment.

The game that I’ve recently beaten for the first time was GTA V (PS3). Didn’t realize the ending credits were way long. I’ve been playing through the super grindy SMT: V on the weekends. Maybe I’ll beat it before spring.

I finished Tales of Berseria. Honestly, I really loved it. The cast of the game was really fun and the gameplay was really solid. Based on some of the Tales roms I have, it seems like my playthrough of this series is only going to get better from here and it makes me excited.

For my first completion of 2025:
I just finished Sonic 3&K for the first time! I've probably played every act and zone individually through lvl select, but this is the first time I've beaten the entire campaign and all its bosses (and more than three special stages lol)! What a game.

So far for 2025:

1. Mad Max (PS4, played on PS5)
2. RetroRealms: Halloween/Ash Vs Evil Dead (Switch)

I finished LeafGreen for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I'll likely be finishing Lost in Random very soon.

Update at the end of February.
So far in 2025 I finished:

1. Pikmin 3 Deluxe (Switch) - 8,5/10
2. Mappy-Land
(NES emulator on Nintendo Switch) - 6/10
3. Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu
(Switch) - 7,5/10
4. The Thaumaturge
(PC) - 8,5/10
5. Doom
(2016) (PC) - 6/10
6. Peter Jackson's King Kong

Giving Doom 2016 only 6/10 hurts my soul

I finished the Berserk PS2 game and now I'm working on finishing Final Fantasy 8. I have only one boss left. As for a rating for the Berserk game I think I'll give it a 7.5/10. It's a fantastic action game and the best Berserk game. It loses a few points for being a bit repetitive, some levels are questionable, and the combat upgrades are really expensive for how short the game is. Where is really shines are boss fights though.

Star Ocean The Second Story R late last night.

FF8 is quite the game. I love how the summon system works, and I loved Triple Triad.

Genkai Tokki Moero Crystal; good mechanic Pokemon-like, I liked how you could choose from a lot of monsters for your party (I don't think there are other dunegon-crawlers with this gameplay?), but the fan-service was quite heavy so I quitted it after clearing the main story and I don't care going back for the postgame.

The combat/junction mechanics are really fun once you get used to it. My only complaint is it's a little too easy to break the game with it. Also Triple Triad is really fun it's just tough to get started since your starting cards suck. Final Fantasy 8 in general can be a little awkward starting out because of all the different new mechanics so I wonder if that's why a lot of people didn't like it. I only have the final boss left since I recently beat Omega Weapon. I heard Ultimecia can be tough too.
