Games You Finished in 2025

hedon 1, streets of rage 2, and gravity rush lol, i have a really bad tendency to restart games in the middle of my playthrough or discard my save entirely because i couldnt get back into the current difficulty curve, so a lot of games are still in the middle of completion

Aaaaand, finally, game number 80 beaten:

Wario_World_game_cover.jpg

Definitely a 7.5/10. Punching, pile driving and causing riots with Wario is a blast. But can we talk how weird some level design choices, and how anti-climatic the final boss + ending all was?

(I noticed only now that Wario is drooling in the cover)

30. High Stakes
31. Wario Land 4
32. DK Tropical Freeze
33 Absolum
34 Mamon King

I really didnt like Tropical Freeze, played it mostly because i loved Marsupilami Hoobadventure last year and i have been craving 2D platformers, but i just dont like how it controls or most of the level designs, worst part for me were the Bosses tho.

Absolum has been pretty cool, saw the credits roll at 9 hours and played a bit more to beat the true boss, im near it but needed a break

Mamon King, pretty cool low budget Monster Rancher / Digimon World / Pokemon where the focus is mainly choosing the training for your monster which has a limited lifespan and then fight in tournaments. Some of the mechanics in battles suck, moves like Sucker Punch can be really annoying and i wish it had a bit more meat in the training, but still a good experience overall

I probably will not complete more games this year at this point, but i played a lot of games considering Shadowverse stole 160 play hours. Outside of 4 small games/arcade i played a lot with decent meat on their bones.

Haven't updated this in a while, off the top of my head I remember beating Pacific Drive, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy X, Death Stranding 1 and Death Stranding 2, and Expedition 33.
Other games I remember beating are the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, Donkey Kong Bananza, Dispatch, Black Mesa, Half-Life 2 and it's episodes, and Portal 1 and 2.

Which version? With BetterSADX?
I actually emulated the original GameCube release on Dolphin. It was kind of amusing seeing me and my bf try to figure out how to catch Froggy in the fishing minigame since there's no controller rumble.

Just beat the arcade with a friend in co-op. Easily one of the best arcade games I've ever played. From what I've understood the development was r ushed, hence why they couldn't put a Dark Queen final boss fight.

Ouch...

Wait, there's a way to add rumble back btw.

I wish someone took time to SADC-ify Gamecube SADX someday.

I miss when BattleToads had that grungy 90's comics style.

#82.
(not to confuse with Ragnarok World, that one is the actual NES port for Game Boy).
Also this one doesn't have Dark Queen as the final boss lol.

Hot take? This was much funnier than the SNES games. The jetpack final level that needs to be rushed out with one life was bullshit, but 3 lives and 3 continues while being a 20/25 minutes short game is a good compromise.
The final boss was an anti-stress from previous level from how easy and satisfying it is.
Still not a easy game, but on Battletoads term it's probably the easiest one.

Well, at this point the only missing one is the 2020 game that got mixed receivings.

It's something that confused me about the two GB Battletoad games.

Honestly it was passable but it's obvious that there's none of the Rareware genius behind it nor the grungy 90's cartoon feel...

It almost feels like a 2010's reboot.

Surprise, surprise, another one done as #83:

Double_Dragon_-_%28NES%2C_NA%29_-_01.webp

I beat the arcade version before (on that horrible collection that is "Double Dragon Trilogy") and I do confirm they're both different games, especially on levels.

Oh boy. How much popular is here the respect to this franchise? On the other I have it, it is after all one of the most influntial beat'em ups of all times. But the early games aged so poorly (the arcade of the second one I legit ragequitted for that final stage).

But for the moment we talk about the NES version. If you ask me what I think I'll plainly reply: it's a bad game that aged like milk. Lack of co-op is ridiculous, weird collision, ridiculously punishing.
The fact that the only mode you can do with another friend is "Mode B" is the funniest part: it's not the "Game B" like the early NES games, oh no no lol: it's the fighting 1v1 one. 1 only stage, bad camera screening when characters move far away...

Nudges are pretty strong just like in the original, if you can manage to keep landing them.
