Games that you didn't expect anything from, or that you simply thought you wouldn't cry about, but you did.

Let me start: I was a kid when in 2015, several YouTubers appeared on YouTube's home page talking about Life is Strange. Since I loved games and still do, I went to watch it and watched all the videos. The ending made me cry a lot. I don't think I've ever cried so much. I just remember being alone in my room and I couldn't stop crying. I'm sure that if I played or watched it today, I wouldn't have the same reaction. I don't think I've ever felt the death of a character as much as I did in this game, at that time.

This was back around middle school. From Suikoden 2, the scene where the hero, and his sister were waiting for Jowy to return till sunset, idk why, but I remember that somewhat teared me up abit. About 2 years later, hearing Suteki Da Ni from FFX teared me up abit again.

Kingdom Hearts 3 - I wasn't ready for the emotions to hit me at the end. Seeing a story I literally grew up with finally come to a close was crazy.

I think the first video game I ever cried to was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Something about the ending where Link needs to essentially undo everything he's done, including his relationship with Zelda, got to me when I was younger.

I have also cried to Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4, Xenogears, Persona 3, and Silent Hill 2.

I didn't know about the different endings to the game when I first played. I got the "Leave Ending" on my first go around. Something about the woman whom you've wronged the most forgiving you and telling you to be happy hit me in the feels harder than I could have expected.

Ocarina of Time was the true first game i ever finished, and when the game ended i just couldn't help but cry for the fact that there was no game anymore, nothing more would happen after this.

Second time was because of the themes and story of the game itself, Final Fantasy 3 on SNES. I just didn't expect that a game could make so invested as i was.

Like A Dragon Gaiden. They really played into Kiryu's situation well, and they hit you with a really big end cutscene. Had to pause it as soon as the bomb hit because I immediately started crying, after I got over it I unpaused and it followed up with another bomb and it hit me again. Never cried to any type of media like that before and probably never will again.

Not exactly surprising but for a 9 year old whose only experience with videogames were licensed games and Mario, I was caught very off guard at the ending, I WAS THE HERO, I WAS THE MAIN CHARACTER!! How did it turn out this way! and it was so heartbreaking without playing ff7 there was no way for me to know that this was going to happen, I was in tears ugly crying, That might have been the moment i got sentience

Nier Automata's score moved me to tears. MGS2 and 3 both have had me tearing up. Undertale, A few of the heartstring-tugging RPG maker games out there as well. I think Portal 2 may have made me tear up a bit as well...there's been a few!
