Been playing a mobile game thats on steam called chaos road its kinda like a SHMUP but also vehicular combat its my gaming and music night at 4pm on a friday which is an hour away so ill boot up the PS5 tonight seeing as its a day off for me on carers payday.

Started playing Xenogears now that I have Grandia out of the way. Maybe I'll actually beat it this time

I just tried a new beat 'em up called Maiden Cops. The gameplay is boring and the game has way too much dialog featuring generic, anime trope characters.

Just another lazy, half ass, indie beat 'em up.

Grand Theft Auto IV - Only an hour in but I already like it more than V in just about every way. Better dialog, characters, atmosphere, map, etc. It helps that NYC is intrinsically cooler than LA (sorry beach bums).

Tomato Adventure - Cute little game. It was wise of Nintendo to pick up Alpha Dream for the Mario and Luigi series. The combat could be better but I'll give it points for creativity.

Streets of Rage 4 - Didn't enjoy it at all. The art style wasn't to my liking and the combat didn't have the same kind of weight 2 did. Refunded after 30 minutes.

Just started Shinobi Art of Vengeance. It's pretty cool.

Also tried Maiden Cops. It didn't impress me.

I'm currently switching back and forth between the Silent Hill 2 Remake (hate it so far, but I hope that's just me being petty and stubborn),
replaying Metal Gear Solid 1 (still just as fantastic as ever),
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance (banger, but doesn't grab me for some reason),
as well as this nice and freaky roguelike Shadow Tower hommage called Dungeons of Blood and Dream (really fun, bizarre and difficult to parse, highly recommend it).

I've been fairly isolated these past few weeks and I'm glad gaming is currently really clicking with me again, I needed something to take my mind off of things.

Had some tribulations trying to play Virtual-On Cyber Troopers. Recently went to a local game convention and got to play the sega saturn version with twin sticks which was a ton of fun. Now that I'm home I'm trying to (varying success) play it on my computer. The actual PC port someone released and is available on the repo wouldn't even launch, saying I didn't have a pentium processor - there didn't seem to be much of a fix for that from what I read. Then, I tried to saturn version, which actually ran really good on the ymir emulator, but would unfortunately freeze once a battle was over. Couldn't fix that either and I didn't really want to set up a different saturn emulator. So finally, I got Cyber Troopers Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram for the dreamcast and ran it through redream. Worked great, thankfully. I had a lot of fun playing it and even managed to beat it despite my unease with the controls.

Juggling a few games on my RG351

Metal Gear Solid Ghost Babel - I'm glad I got around to playing this one even though it's non-canon. The plot is actually really good even without Kojima's involvement. The stealth is a little simplistic but it's hard to fault for a game released on a handheld from 1998, and it's still a blast to play regardless. The sprite work is easily the best on the GBC.

Snatcher - Love the atmosphere, love the plot, especially love the art direction. My only complaints are (1) the soundtrack is a little lacking and (2) examining everything over and over to progress the plot is a little tedious at times, but that's to be expected for the genre.

Tomato Adventure - Alpha Dream's RPG before they were tapped for the Mario & Luigi series, and you can definitely tell. Has the same quirky sense of humor and catchy soundtrack. The gameplay has some surprisingly inspired ideas even though it's very much a beginner's RPG. The pace is refreshingly snappy. Backgrounds don't have any animation or parallax scrolling which is kind of disappointing given how vibrant the art is. Otherwise good stuff, and I'll be doing a proper review when I'm done.

PSO ephinea. i've barely played past the tutorial on my HUcast character, but i decided to play a RAmar instead. i ended up killing a dragon in the forest. raged quit during another mission, because my internet kept cutting out and DC'd me every 5 minutes. when i actually got to play i was having fun.

Dragon Quest 3 (SNES) and the truth is that at first I didn't like it at all, but now i see the vision of the game and developed a taste for it, i think it's a great open world J-RPG game and it saddens me a little that I'm almost at the end of the adventure.
