I'm going through sudden strike resources war finishing it i will have played all campaigns for the 2D games only 3 and 4 (5 has been announced) it's torture sudden strike is a amalgamation of good ideas buried deep under droves of bad ideas Resources war is the best example.

Missions are scripted in a horrible way enemies constantly respawn for a game trying to emulate realism that's not so "realistic" you can't have a moment of peace! I want to organize the men and the material i have i can't because enemies keep attacking how is this "fun" i had to mod out fuel system for the game to be "playable" in fact i had to mod the game so much to balance it better (bring allied tanks to the power level of German ones) it's so frustrating and annoying that i have to spend 4 hours grinding endless waves of panzer IVs they only stop once you capture some workshop then you have to deal with 8 not 1 not 2 but EIGHT Tigers that are highly experienced these constantly get rebuilt in a nearby factory that you need to capture to finish the mission i spent 4-5 hours playing this piece of shit today finally i reached mission 3 and at last i will be done with this game how can it be this bad? How did they deem this fun is beyond me.

Played some of the excellent Final Fight MD homebrew on my IRL Genesis (roughly about the first two stages on "Mega Mode"). Man, I was probably more hyped for this than I ever was Paprium. It's so fun to play and is quite the looker. The fact that they were able to get this to work is a testament to Genesis hombrew scene and I had no qualms paying for it through Patreon

having an itch for MODO, CK2, and FVII all at the same time.

I'm on the final world of Henry Hatsworth. Great game and all but man some of this late game platforming is kind of bullshit. I'd still recommend it though as there really isn't anything out there like it (to my knowledge). Shame it never got a follow up as I think it could be truly great if it ironed out some of the kinks. Might post a proper review once I'm finished.

Today has been:
Lufia 2 (Frue Lufia)
Final Fantasy 6 (Brave New World)
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33

How's Frue Lufia? I iked Lufia II but got burned out around 80% through and never finished it. The combat felt super unbalanced imo.

Frue is 100% an upgrade.
Nothing too drastic as far as changes, but it fixes a ton of bugs and just makes the game better here and there.
Its the definitive way to play Lufia 2, imo.

There is also Spekkio Lufia which changes even more things and makes it more difficult. Some might say its better than Frue (subjective) but its further from the original design.

Played a bit of PoE today — was just messing around with a low-effort mapping build, nothing fancy lol. Honestly spent more time browsing random stuff on poe hub than actually playing 😅 I was trying to figure out if a certain unique still drops or not and just went down a rabbit hole.

What about you guys? Anyone else still playing PoE or taking a break till the next league?

felix the cat ( nes ) and finished.

for a licensed based nes platformer, i got to say, it's really well done and the powerup system is really fun as you evolve into different forms as you collect items.

been on the crew 2 today, asphalt legends unite and i have a team game starting on wwe supercard tonight hopefully have it wrapped but by tomorrow so i can go back to steam or retro gaming on tuesday.

Xanadu Next. Not really gonna rock anyone's world but it's a very solid dungeon crawler via the folks at Falcom. I think I might do a review once I'm done.

I was in a mood for an rpg and was looking up the Dragon Quest III remake (remaster?) but decided that I'm not hardcore enough and 60€ is a bit too pricey so picked up Clair Obscur instead. Not sure how I feel about the whole dodge/parry thing wedged into jrpg mechanics but otherwise it seems really good so far. Especially for not being AAA. Or maybe because of it? Being disappointed with triple a and surprised by double a seems to happen more and more these days.

phantasy star universe. i forgot that they like to do every chapter like its own anime episode.

Expedition 33 and Persona 3 Reload, with a little bit of Lost Ruins and some Hoyoverse game dailies thrown in. I've neglected my Series X for quite a while so I put it in my room and my PS5 back out in the living room for now. There's going to be a heat wave this weekend so I'm probably going to be lying in bed gaming a lot with fans pointed at me while hoping for the best. Too hot to want to do anything else.
