This just popped into my head. What are games that utilize time travel in interesting ways? I'll start

Oh wow I completely forgot about Cris Tales, I remember liking the demo. Anyway there is this game called Homebody which is basically a survival horror/stalker horror but with a twist -- you're stuck in a time loop. Technically its hardly a time travel because you go back only one evening but I think its still worth mentioning for how clever its implemented. Instead of being a game over as usual, here death is a mechanic that allows you to learn information like enemy pattern, puzzle solutions, door passwords etc. and then repeat the cycle with that knowledge. So eventually you figure out the perfect course of action by knowing every little thing thats going to happen. Its very satisfying, I highly recommend that game.

I liked Majora's Mask's 3 day loop. It made all the side stories just that much more tragic because there's no way you can do them all in a single 3 day cycle which means no matter what you do something bad will still happen.

I vote this one:

It's a pretty cool early-era PS2 game, where you play a guy trying to stop his own murder. Involves a lot of time jumping in and around the same town, sometimes centuries in the past, sometimes just a few minutes. A little janky and pretty linear, but all these years later, I really haven't played anything else quite like it

Fun fact:
Homonculus was voiced by Charles Martinet (old voice of Mario)
One of my first Playstation 2 games.
Very cool game.

Agree to disagree on Final Fantasy XIII-2. That system really tanked my enjoyment of the game! I needed a guide, and even then I got lost trying to navigate and figure out when I was meant to go next. Some locations have like 4-5 different versions based on the time you go there ::sailor-embarrassed

I always liked platformers like Crash Bandicoot 4, or Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart where the time period can change mid level!

Might be a long shot, but Zelda Oracle of Ages is dangerously underrated. For sure my favorite Zelda game.
I do hear some people talk about Oracle of Ages, but I hear way more people talk about Ocarina, Majora's Mask & Link to the Past/Link Between Worlds when they talk about Zelda games. So you're probably right that Oracle is underrated

the Prince of persia games that use time travel, sands of time is great fun.
lost crown has some very interesting use of rewind and such, using clones of yourself for example.

blinx the time sweeper, old xbox game, it was so weird back then being able to rewind a game literally, it's a strange game but fun for a bit.

this is a long stretch, but in dragon quest 11 S (and only on S version) you can sorta time travel via chapter select, this respawns EVERYTHING, all loot, chests, sparkly items, bosses.
yes this means you can just repeat a chapter over and over infinitely to rack up free stuff.
you can also swap form 2d mode to 3d mode, it's really quite different in both modes ,not just graphics, combat changes to match older games (like SNES games) the world map might well be a different world, dungeons are re-designed entirely in some cases.
so for example like I did, played teh entire game in 2D mode (it's harder in 2D btw) and redid it all in 3d
btw the game story in itself also rewinds post-game, to change a significant amount of story events
you kill the final boss before he does literally ANYTHING, but another more evil dude shows up which also makes all enemies and bosses stronger in the lv50+ range
also in S version you visit old dragon quest areas (like 2-3 maps per game, DQ1 through 10, you can battle the final boss of all 10 games in post game also) and theres a challenge to beat all 11 final bosses in a row with no breaks, and ANOTHER post game boss after doing that,
it's a game with stupid amounts of replay value

I played Blinx not too long ago! I wanna check out the sequel, but it isn't backwards compatible for some reason.

Sonic CD because you have to run past signs and build up speed to jump through time and doing stuff in the past affected the future. Chrono Trigger had a neat way of traveling through time too with being able to pick certain time periods and you could alter the past to affect the future in that game too. I was a huge fan of the Back To The Future movies as a kid. I would have loved to have played both back then but I never was able to until decades later. Probably would have confused me back then now that I think about it. lol But it's so cool!

I don't like to say too much about the game because it's best without spoilers, but I have to mention one of my favorite games ever. The Sexy Brutale.

There is also a PSP version, but I've never played that one.
