Games that you don't/least play at all?

Tower defense. I hate freaking tower defense games. I'm not a sports guy but I'll take any sports game over Plants vs Zombies or any of its ilk.

I don't play civilization games.
& the least played for me are FPS.

Sand box games, I get bored with it very quickly, gachas I can play it for a while but then I drop it soon and any simulators

I've always stayed away from all types of sports games. For one thing, I couldn't give any less of a fuck about any form of "sports ball" IRL. Plus, why take the time to learn a game when they are obviously just going to be releasing a subtlety different version every year? No thanks..

I grew tired & burned-out over Halo & CoD-style FPSs way back when Halo 2 was still the current thing. Still love my "Boomer Shooters" though..

I also don't bother with visual novels. If I wanted to read a book or watch an anime, I would rather just do either of those instead..

I'd say this is probably more of a general list. There are games in these genres I do enjoy but for the most part I don't really like and won't play:

Visual Novels/dating sims, survival games, games where the central mechanic is crafting, sports games unless it's with other people, idle games, clicker games, light gun style shooters, farming simulators, rpgs with deck or card based mechanics, gacha games, srpgs(though i like turn based tactical games just not when they're rpgs for some reason), games where the majority of the gameplay is initiating QTEs.

Then there's a few genres I actually do enjoy but don't really like playing much anymore for whatever reason.

RTS games. I used to play a shitload of Warcraft 2, Starcraft/Broodwar and Command and Conquer/Red Alert. I started losing interest in the early-mid 2000's when the genre started going 3d. A lot of the games and sequels that came out felt like downgrades in a lot of ways compared to the 2d games and that combined with just changes in life just made me move away from the genre and I haven't really seen any since that have gotten me excited for RTS games since. The only one i've ever really gotten excited about was Starcraft 2 but that was pretty hugely disappointing and I barely remember it exists most of the time.

On the theme of Blizzard, I tend to stay away from Diablo style action RPGs for the most part. I was hugely addicted to Diablo 2 for like two years. There was one summer I spent basically every day staying up until like 4 or 5 in the morning playing D2 on battlenet. I avoided games like that for the longest time but I have tried a few over the years and none of them really sucked me in like Diablo 2 did. Diablo 3 was garbage. It felt more like Gauntlet than Diablo. Actually, me and my wife played it together and at the same time we also played some Gauntlet game that was on PS3 and Diablo 3 felt more like playing Gauntlet than the actual Gauntlet game did. I think the last one I tried was Path of Exile but I found the loot to be just way too much and it still managed to not capture what made D2's loot hunting so addicting.

To a lesser extent it's kind of the same with Japanese style arpgs but for different reasons. I used to like them more. Games like the Mana series, the Tales series and Star Ocean, stuff like that. I find I avoid them in favor of turn based rpgs for the most part these days. It's mostly out of laziness though. I'd rather just sit and casually press menu buttons than mash attack enemies over and over.

3d Platformers are another one. I had an N64 as a kid so naturally i played a ton of 3d platformers and generally I liked them but I can't handle playing them any more. I've tried. It's too bad. There's so many cool romhacks for Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie but I just can't do it. I go to start them and play them for like 10-15 minutes then get bored and quit. I think part of it's maybe the time commitment. They're usually pretty big games. Not quite rpg size but some of them take the same kind of time investment and I've played so many of them it just never really feels worth investing the time in them again. Especially with ones I have already played before, even if they have been hacked and changed.

I can't stand turn based games. This combat system is so repetitive and slow, that I get bored sooner rather than later.

Sports games. I've never been a sports man and the few times I played a sports video game, it just didn't appeal to me.

Strategy and simulation games like Sims, edge of empires, tactical RPGs, tower defense etc. I found them boring.

Racing games. There are some that I actually like, because they have some additional action mechanics along race (blur, split second and Lego 2k drive), but in general racing games are not my thing.

Souls like. I'll make it easy. Souls like haven't a single thing that like; actually I hate most of aspect of a souls like.

Visual novel. If I wanted to read, I'd just take one my books.

As for franchise, in some cases I've played some of these and didn't like them, in others I just don't care:

Basically every Nintendo first party
Sonic
GTA
Metal Gear solid
Maincra
Borderlands
Cod
Every multiplayer only, game.

I've slowly acquired appreciation for some of my least favorite genres over the years. For example FPS would be on the top of my list but a few and far between games I've ended up enjoying. When it comes to visuals 99% of 'realistic-graphics' have seldom interest me, but again came around to a handful (particularly in the survival-horror department). But don't fret I still dislike:

-Open World / Sandbox
-Simulation: Driving / Racing
-Simulation: Dating / Visual Novel
-Traditional Sports

Others I'll avoid for the most part are some 3D games (not 2.5D they're good) in Platformers, Fighters, Brawlers / Beat'em ups, Hack'n Slash, Action-Adventure. I do enjoy 3D Strategy, Puzzle, Arcade Racing, RPG.

Particular series or individual games I suppose haven't interest me yet, maybe in time, are:

-Halo
-BioShock
-Grand Theft Auto
-Fire Emblem
-Oblivion
-Mortal Kombat
-Half Life
-The Elder Scrolls
-Left 4 Dead
-Assassin's Creed
-Gears of War
-Saint Row
-Mass Effect
-Dead Rising

Others I'm indifferent to for particular reasons or tried only a few games of the series:

-Metroid
-F Zero
-Monster Hunter
-The Legend of Zelda
-Devil May Cry
-Shin Megami Tensei

Resident Evil I refuse to play
I encourage you to play Resident Evil. I don't know why it's considered horror, but I ensure you it is not. Actually It's so ridiculous that I often laugh when I play it; also It's satisfying to shoot and kill zombies and other monsters. The only RE I wouldn't recommend you is Resident Evil 7, that's an actual horror game. Resident Evil is a great franchise, so give it a chance.

Also I forgot to add brawlers/beat and up. Apart of from Yakuza and God Hand, most these games are not my thing.

I've never owned any Xbox consoles and i did play a bit of the first Halo on PC and found it fairly average but man some of the best multiplayer gaming I've ever done was at my buddy's place back in the day on his Xbox 360 with 4 of us playing either Halo 2 or 3, I can't remember which now, online together in games with like 32 people or something like that. I don't understand why there's so few games out there that let you play splitscreen and online at the same time because man it was so much fun. It was all the good times of games like goldeneye and perfect dark combined with the fun of online gaming. The only other game I've played like that was another one my buddy owned, a Call of Duty game maybe i can't remember, but it was only two player + online instead of 4 player so we didn't play that one as much.

I like listening to game osts but not into rhythm games though.
