Games that just feel RIGHT on XBox

(Most FPS games felt better on an Xbox Controller)
+1. The PS2 controller hurts my fingers after an hour of use. The slim xbox controller feels like a glove. Sadly, I've never got the chance to try the duke controller, but it probably feels awful.

Do you play THPS with the D-Pad or the joystick? I haven’t tried THPS on the Xbox yet but I always found that the PlayStation D-Pad was perfect for playing THPS. The GameCube D-Pad is the worst, it’s too small.
D-pad always. You cant reliably do the tricks on the thumbstick. I use a Duke too so idk if that changes anything but i got like a 7M high score on Foundry THPS3 on the duke soooo......

Halo (of course..)
Fable 1
Armed & Dangerous
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven

Games needed to be considerably chunky to match playing with the Duke...or just make great use of the control scheme (loved the use of the black and white buttons)

The game exist in Xbox and GameCube, but Xbox ver look more nicer
This is basically how I feel for just about every game that came out on all 3. The 480i/p across the board is no joke! Certainly when a lot of PS2 game seem to internally run below that. The only game that kinda just feels better elsewhere (on the gamecube) is Soul Calibur 2.

I would say Arx Fatalis,
A great game still trapped on Xbox (now on steam but that's it; no other console ports vintage or modern). Felt dark, gritty, mature and had a decent level of complexity to the world and gameplay. Very fun if you like games similar to King's Field. Also really enjoyed the Xbox "Director's Cut" of Fatal Frame II Crimson Butterfly with the added content not present in the PS2 version.

I’ve made a whole thread on this, but I actually adore the Duke. Its problems are its face buttons and the size of it, not to mention looking very… “unique”. In truth, for games that heavily use the sticks and triggers, it feels amazing! Far better than the S pad that the original XBox got later down the line. It’s big problem from there on is that, well, the 360 controller is perfection. And then XBox controllers after that were perfection on top of perfection (minus the painful pattern used on the sticks :p). So, people don’t go back to the Duke much, unless they already know they like it. It’s a shame, but it is how it is.

These are the first games I think of

I Normally Play on the Joystick I use the D-Pad for like the tricks and what not. You Should it on Xbox it Feels like Authentic In a Way I don't know If It's because of it Being On Xbox but I like it. Though I Do Agree On Playstation Its Great as well, I Guess Whatever Suits Us Its The Console We Think Is Best Or Feels The Best.

Can't Lie I Tried it On The Gamecube It Felt Good At The Time When I Was Young But Thinking About it Gamecube Is Definitely a Challenge to Play it On. I Wonder If Hardcore Players Mastered That D-Pad On Gamecube Lmao.

For whatever reason, I adored playing KotOR2 and Morrowind on the classic XBox instead of PC.

I've had a controller in my hand ever since I had my little yellow Game Boy Pocket and Kirby's Star Stacker. Uhhh, you get what I mean, and I mean to say using a controller for Morrowind felt better to me than trying to use mouse-and-keyboard. Similarly, having played TES 4: Oblivion on the 360 first, I am glad for that mod that lets you use a controller in addition to having a Skyrim-esque pause menu.

My hands are too small for the Duke. I am playing Tony Hawk 2x right now, it’s pretty good. I did notice that the 2x and the Xbox version of THPS 3 has 4 player split screen multiplayer. That is something that the PlayStation versions never had.

Played this at a convention LAN with the original controls.
There's a slight learning curve in getting used to the controls.
Still one of the best experiences of the night besides AVP on Jaguar.

Ninja Gaiden
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Forza
Project Gotham
Halo
Fable
Crimson Skies
Need For Speed games

Heck I just loved the way most games felt on the Xbox.

There are 2 games that feel right at home.
Psychonauts was what helped the OG Xbox stand out for me. A zany, stylized 3D platform that's dark enough to warrant staying away from the GameCube made the exclusivity worth it for me.
With Minecraft, I was so used to seeing the Xbox buttons on screen thanks to YouTubers, that it felt natural to me.
What they both had in common was how out of place they felt on Playstation. For Psychonauts, I was more familiar with the PS2 being more "realistic" looking action games like MGS2 or DMC instead of cartoon-y.
And Minecraft for PS4 felt... forced to me for some reason? At that point, I had seen the PS4 as more of the home of "anime games" like Persona 5 or visual novels. Of course, I grew out of that mindset, but I still feel like these 2 fit right at home on the Xbox.

I have 3 decades of me using a controller, if I have the option to use a controller I take it. I can't even think of trying to play an Elder Scrolls game with a keyboard and mouse.

I forgot about this gaming regret. One of my biggest regret is never getting Steel Battalion and that huge ass controller with it. Just looked on ebay real quick and I'm seeing it be in the $300-$500 range. Maybe one year.

When I think Xbox what games pop into mind as Xbox. The Halo series is the big one. Then my mind does wander off to Fable and Kingdom Under Fire. It is nice to reminisce of those old days when Xbox had exclusives that made you think, Xbox.
