Games that aren't necessarily deep on gameplay, but offer a beautiful narrative and unforgetable adventure

Like, asking you, what makes Legend of Heroes so special?
The story itself. It starts simple as we are going to help the town then a lot of things are introduced to the point that all characters change as a person and they're not the same as they started the saga, also every town has a reason to exists and a lot of things are explained that's why there's a lot of games ?. The only bad thing is if you want to see everything you are going to be in the Hyperbolic time chamber because they will take a millennia of your time.

I could sure use a time chamber with my backlog...

I'd have to go with Night in the Woods. The gameplay isn't much more than going left or right, jumping and an occasional minigame, but everything else is just wonderful. Loved the characters, story, visuals, music and dialogue. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it didn't ruin the game or anything. The themes of mental illness and returning to your hometown only to see it a shell of it's former self really resonated with me as well. I've wanted to replay it, because I found out I missed out on a lot of character interactions and they added a bunch of stuff after I'd played it with the Weird Autumn update, but I've had trouble actually doing so. I don't know how to put it other than I feel like games that are almost exclusively story focused are really difficult to play when you already know what's gonna happen. NitW is definitely one of those games I wish I could experience for the first time again.

similar to night in the woods theres like no gameplay besides exploration and a minigame or two but great characterization that tells a heartfelt story under the guise of a supernatural thriller. the presentation is top notch i wish more story games focused on it like this. and it being an accurate and relatable game of the philippines wasnt something it relied on for the appeal. its almost just simply a backdrop as it tells a normal story instead of trying so hard to include our culture
