True enough, but they were trying to pull away from the kiddie image they had and still do for the most part. Even after all these years I still see Nintendo as the kids' game system and the PS/Xbox as the teen/adult systems, although that isn't really the case anymore.Eh, I think Nintendo tried too hard to be like Sega (or Sony later) to appeal to the teens when what made them Nintendo was because they were doing their own stuff...
Nintendo does have some more mature titles under their belt compared to the 90s.
