Forum Game [FORUM GAME]: Where are you from?

Region: North America
Country: US
I'm a Las Vegas native. The heat is a nightmare, the food is good if you can afford it, and there's surprisingly little to do if you're not a tourist.
Interesting. I always wanted to learn about the specific cultures of certain US places
Post automatically merged:

1) LATAM culturally. North America politically.
2) Puerto Rico
3) Spanish (native) and English (bilingual schools)
4) We also invented Spanglish, I guess.
I’m so glad I wrote down rule 4

When are you guys gonna become a State already anyways?

#1 is the main reason we will probably never become a State. The United States of America is big on English only in government and business. That would never fly over here. After all the years of indoctrination, we are still culturally very much Latin American. Only way I see it happening if there's a massive movement of Americans to Puerto Rico, like what happened in Hawaii.

And let's probably not talk more about this as it definitely gets political, lol.

I know this is a bit of nowhere, but I’m a surprisingly good ear with political stuff and this is a topic I’m absolutely invested in so don’t feel discouraged from dming me if you wanna ramble about it to someone
This is actually a common convo piece between me and my dad. He loves learning about this too.

Well, if you are interested in the subject, Wikipedia does a decent job of summarizing the whole situation in Puerto Rico. Link.

Yeah, I got that. I honestly figured it was a lot more complicated.
On a side note, how's the weather down there? ;)

Right now it is really nice, 80 degrees. However, the summer really sucks, like 100+ and blazing hot. Then all the tropical storms in the autumn. Its not as great as it sounds. ?‍♂️

I think it's like 5 outside here. All the snow melted in the heat wave, so there is no blocking the wind.
Good time to work on my Spanglish I guess.

I've lived in Massachusetts so I know how that goes. Honestly the snow doesn't sound that bad sometimes. Especially when it is 110 degrees over here.

COUNTRY:
Malaysia: 2
Indonesia: 2

LANGUAGE:

Bahasa Melayu: 4

If I miscount feel free to yell at me

There's 3 Indonesians in the replies, including me. Only 1 Malaysian I can see on page 1.

Also, Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Melayu are 2 very different languages, even if developed from the same root. It's Indonesians' language of unity. Please show some respect

I'm pretty sure he meant no disrespect, and is very sorry for the misunderstanding.
