First console/devise you took online?

I didn't start this, but ok no more ahole references, Ill have to get smarter

My senpai Archnine only allowed me to play Sega master system. Oh the tears....

Xbox 360, for a couple of xbox live games.
Ironic because the 360 was my first and only microsoft console after 2 RROD's ruined my trust in them.

GTA V on ps3 is the only time i have played a game online , my ps3 broke down maybe 8 or 9 years ago - it happened 2 or 3 times so i never bothered to get it fixed and it really upset me. gta online was possibly the best gaming experience i ever had as it had everything you could want in a game.

First device was my PC
The very first game I played online was my beloved Kingpin Life of Crime, but I didn't care about online play so I tried it once and forgot about it.

Then this game store here, that of course sold pirated games, set up their own FTP server, this was back in 99.
They put up a bunch of games for us to download for free on the server. One was Expendable, here in Europe known on DC as Millennium Soldier Expandable. It was a brand new game, I remember downloading it forever with a 56k modem and being blown away at how great it was.
The other game I downloaded was that one South Park FPS with the chickens, well that was the second game I ever played online and it felt WEIRD, like I was experiencing something I wasn't supposed to somehow.

After that when I got my Dreamcast the summer of 2000, I'd play Quake III and Unreal tournament on it from time to time and that was it.
I hate online and competitive gaming so meh.

I enjoyed MMORPGs sometimes over the years but that's it and played a bit of the first Overwatch.

SINGLE PLAYER 4 LYFE!!!! :)

Senpai Archnine... WHY????

My first device would've been my PC back in the day. I don't really remember what I did, so probably something like Runescape or Newgrounds.

Console wise? Technically my Nintendo DS or DSI using a friend's WIFI adaptor thing. Again, I can't really remember what I played or did. I do recall using Nintendo points to download some stuff on there though.

After I escaped from Archnine the Evil, I only had a game swan. Then I was captured by the evil Bowery Bugs and he stole my handheld

PlayStation 3, I used to go on PlayStation Home alllll the time. I loved to play bowling, it just sucked there was almost always a line up. I liked the RE5 and Metallica maps they had and the mall was cool.

I thought it was a shame when it died, I really had fun with it. Then you had the creepers sending messages and you just laughed at how pathetic that was.

Mine was my 3DS, my parents were quite against me doing anything online when I was little but somehow didn't mind me playing Mario Kart 7 with random people online. Though it's not like there's a voice chat that people would use to teach me new words like [censored] and [censored also].

When the AVGN released his episode on Tiger Electronic games a few years back, the detail that stuck with me the most was that their GameCon console could be hooked up to a modem and access the internet (text only). That surprised me because I remember being able to do just that with my first cellphones through WAP, but that was much later in life (and still not that great).

Still, I did some shenanigans with phones and experimented a bit with both the PS2 and the Dreamcast, accomplishing little more than murdering my parents' phone bill in the process. it was mind-blowing.

What was the first console (or devise) that you took online? And what did you do with it?
Original Xbox. Me and a friend both imported a Street Fighter game that came out in Japan first and had SF3: Third Strike on it with online play so we could fight each other. Wild west days back then, especially around voice chat. Which I quickly stopped using when playing with randoms because they all thought it was terribly clever to ask if I was a girl or a 12 year old boy whose voice hadn't broken, or to make grunting orgasm sounds into the mic.
