Fighting Game Thread

I switched to stick when SFV came out and haven't looked back since. It's nice not getting blisters on my thumb from doing motion inputs on a d-pad. My inputs are also a lot cleaner on stick, having a square gate with the micro switches clicking into the 8 directions really helps. Also being able to "double tap" for tight links makes them much easier. You drum your middle and index finger on the button, getting two inputs a frame apart.

I started practicing Ryu again in SF6. Definitely one of my favorite versions of the character. Now all thats left is to have internet to play with someone.

Oh yeah, SF6 Ryu is definitely a good time. Maybe even a little too good considering all the buffs he's been getting over the patches. Corner H.Donkey Kick>L.Shoryu juggle into lvl 3 is one of the most satisfying things to land in the game.

SF6 Ryu has to be my favorite iteration of the character. Ryu is the past often felt a little overshadowed by the other shoto's, but in 6 he feels very unique while still being distinctively Ryu.

I'm going back in, the fighting game bug has taken full hold of my faculties.

hokuto no ken is not a kusoge it is in fact my favourite game from that developer
but many call it kusoge... it is not i that refers to such a gem by that word
TODs from that game can't be topped lol

They should add a sigma vs alpha fighting game 🗿🍷

Anyone got any fighting game series they wanna see come back? I'd kill for a new Soul Caliber or Killer Instinct.
Oh yeah, the greatest fighting game ever of Weaponlord.

But actually, I'd kill for another Soul Calibur. The last one was such a disappointment, they can't end the series like that.

Darkstalkers is the one I wanna see return the most. But if they do it it's gotta be 2D, I can't see that games animations looking quite right in 3D.

A new BlazBlue would be nice as well. Would give arcsys a chance to return to more technical fighters like they used to make.

I was able to pick up SFIV and MvC3 together for less than a fiver the other day, that was pretty sweet
Only two of the best modernish Capcom fighters, nice man.

marvel vs capcom 3 was one of the uncommon fighting games where i believe all of my favourite characters were top tier, with the exception of phoenix right
vergil, zero, morrigan, doctor doom
Yeah those are definitely some top tiers. Most of mine are mid tier at best which is okay, with the exception of Doom.
Taskmaster, Chris, Cap, Iron Man, Iron Fist, Spencer and Nemesis.

I've played more MvC3 than SFIV, but not enough to get familiar with any character's moveset/strengths/weaknesses. I think the last fighting game I did that with was Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2

i actually do not think i have mentioned it
but sagat is my favourite street fighter character to play here is a photo of one of my arcade sticks
my friend designed the art

and i enjoy sfiv and crimson viper is a character i enjoy a lot, so this season of fighters in street fighter vi is very tailored to my enjoyment (ingrid is super cool as well) (alex is very good too)

I play a lot of indie fighting games, like MerFight. The indie scene for fighting games is really neat, a lot of variety that I wish more people knew about. But I play all sorts, Street Fighter 6 is my favorite Street Fighter and I've got a monthly Third Strike bracket plus a weekly Sailor Moon S bracket. Fightcade is fun when you can actually get games in the ones that aren't Third Strike or MvC 2.

I'd like to see Soul Calibur VII come around, the second season of DLC was very clearly building up to it with all of the new villains in Soul Chronicle. My only hope for gameplay changes is that the slowed down rock paper scissors thing goes away.

I love the indie fighting game scene too. I've put in a huge amount of hours into stuff like Yatagarasu, Vanguard Princess, and Pocket Bravery. Even the indie "kusoge" stuff like Dong Dong Never Die is often crazy fun.

I legitimately love Divekick to bits. It's such a fun game and has a surprising amount of thought put into it for a meme game. It's great to play with friends that don't normally mess with fighting games.

Ugh, the edge reversals or whatever they were called. They were absolutely dominating in lower skill, but useless in anything past that. Such a terribly designed mechanic. Like I said above, they can't leave the franchise on that bad of a final note.

DIvekick was such a rad game, but I'm not really sure what a sequel would be able to add in considering the point was its two buttons. Oh, and Uncle Sensei best character; he can kick with his hands, you can't beat that.

I'm just here to say that Robo-Ky is the real Ky and i won't accept this Strive slander with how they made him just a flying head that follows Venom

Also i'm practicing May in +R and trying to get her in some matches and so far she is very fun, reminds me of how Bridget plays
