Fighting Game Central

i remembered an old music video about fighting games. thought that i would share with all of you:

I've fallen back to my old addiction so I've installed Melty Blood (the 2002 original build) and tried arcade mode

Sadly it feels really slow compared to Actress Again.

I love that 00's doujin game feel

Been on and off fighting games, I mainly play SF games but I love experimenting with other franchises. Once I get my life in order I'm gonna try to go uber competitive again but for now it's playing kusoge with my friends.

never seen this x box bloody roar to tonight this game franchise needs brought back.

Mortal Kombat games were much worse about this.

It's worth nothing that this does not happen in Street Fighter II on the SNES. On the SNES everyone has clear patterns and weaknesses you can exploit no matter what the difficulty setting is.

How many FTG threads are there?

Too many to choose but if I had to take one I'd probably say this:

Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code

Anime fighters are pretty sick, though I’ve only dabbled in arcana heart and blazblue, and a bit of chaos code. Phantom breaker is also cool.

Blazblue is on sale actually, I bought central fiction in hopes of hosting a tourney with friends.

I unironically like this

Call me nostalgic but I do prefer the X-XX era of GG over Xrd onwards. Xrd Sign/Rev/Rev2 is visually impressive at replicating the "2D-ness" for a 3D (2.5D) game that I wish Street Fighter went that direction instead for V and VI but the series has let the "heavy metal" feel and Strive really miss some of that "edge" that made Guilty Gear different from other fighting games.

I haven't tried BlazeBlu yet but I feel like it's kinda the "Persona of Guilty Gear".

Nah you’re not alone. I like May’s design a lot more here.
My best friend also doesn’t have strive so he and I just play older stuff, and I don’t like installing larger games on my steam deck anyhows.

I prefer the term Air Dasher but you're right. I need to play AH and CC again.

Welp, I thought that BlazBlue was a bit too "weebish"/Persona-esque compared to Guilty Gear but since Strive has lost that "edge" to me I'd go for BB simply because I love 2D sprite art.

GG1 is maybe a bit too rough on the edges but X/XX are still fun to play from time to time.

I really liked that promo, the cheesy voice acting adds some points.

Oh no, I'm falling!
Post automatically merged:

I've fought Baiken (the secret 1CC boss of GG1) and yeah, I kinda used Savestates and Instant Kills to get to her.

It's still cool to see how much has been implemented in the game.

But I think Guilty Gear X is much better (even if it's somewhat a prototype for XX/X2).

Under Night In-Birth, without a doubt.
It's a good one but it didn't feel like Melty Blood...

Kinda like how BlazBlue was made because they didn't have the rights at that point of history.
