Favourite characters in movies?

I couldn't find a thread about this one so I wanted to make it. Feel free to gush about your favourite characters and the actors who portray them as well.

I'm pretty much using this idea for a thread to explain how much I love Professor Henry Higgins In 1964's musical masterpiece, that being My Fair Lady.

His uncompromising personality and nature makes it so easy to feel so smitten about him. Rex Harrison's incredible prowess with his voice (sometimes he's not even singing, yet it feels like he is!) definitely helps to make him standout, but there's something about that fixed stance of his as a bachelor and the fact he stays consistent in his ideals and motions throughout the entire picture is incredible writing to me. He was meticulously composed to be the sort of man he is, no matter what people will think of him. And to me, that is absolutely incredible.

Even when he's wondering about his feelings of Eliza during the latter half of the show, I don't think he's necessarily falling in love with her either, and forgoing his preferred position as a bachelor. He has grown accustomed to her face and quite frankly begins to enjoy her presence. The beauty of My Fair Lady's ending sequence is that it can be interpreted in a myriad of ways, but that's not here nor there.

I love the man, by quite a margin.

While I won't presume to write a wonderful, heartfelt essay as @Sanarchy has, I'll say I find a lot of Clint Eastwood's characters delightful, for different reasons.

During the classic phase of spaghetti westerns I'm very fond of, he generally played the skilled, snarky but ultimately good natured loner, seeking and dealing justice at gunpoint in an otherwise lawless and merciless land.

Even if it is somewhat naive, I like how his characters in these films served as a hopeful, if somewhat flawed collage of human virtue in dire circumstances.

Later in his life, he played a sour, disillusioned war veteran wanting to be left very well alone in Gran Torino; the film resonated with me greatly, as the character is trying to find peace and has kindness in his heart, though he is also pessimistic and world weary.

Fisher Stevens in quite literally anything. Yeah some of the earlier roles were problematic (looking at you Short Circuit)

O' Connel from The Mummy (1999).

Dude was my hero growing up, cool guy who fights the supernatural with whatever he has on hand, pulp action heroes are the best. He isn't some super human, he is just some guy who relies on his wits, skills, and ingenuity.

Just movies? I saw this topic spring not too long ago in the night. I was never a big movie guy. I wish I could appreciate some finer arts more. I guess just going back to the 90s. For some really maybe not so great cinema. I always thought Jason Mewes/Jay was always so funny and a chill guy mostly. Clerks/MallRats.

I definitely do like more serious movies as the Muppets Christmas Carol is one of my favorites. Anyhow uhh that story is legendary and the Muppets really do it some fine justice with the slapstick stuff only really being done well with Gonzo and the Rat who are the narrators. It all works great.

(Whoops I screwed up the MallRats insert, but it's probably better that way and it wasn't a picture of Jason Mewes anyway just some other people who really went onto big things into TV).

Mallrats is how I ended up buying a Hockey game for Saturn that I have no business owning (I'm not good at it)

Jeffrey Goines in 12 Monkeys is one of my favorite characters. He's off the wall nuts and steals every scene in the movie. Brad Pitt even got a Best Supporting Actor nomination for the role, but lost to Kevin Spacey.
