I'm going to limit it to games I actually played on the system back in the day.
Most of these I bought from import stores in Amsterdam or Rotterdam, because Nintendo in Europe was pretty awful back then.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja ( I think all the SFC Ganbara Goemon are great owned several back in the day)
Final Fantasy 4 and 6
Space Megaforce
SF2 Turbo
A link to the Past
Super Probotector/Super Contra ( probably one of the rare times censorship, didn't stink up the place )
Dragonball Z* ( err can't remember which fighter it was, it was a French release a local rental place had )
Soul Blazer
Breath of Fire
Twin Bee

*More off a nostalgic pick, as I'm pretty sure I wouldn't really care for it now nearly as much.

Street Fighter II
Super Street Fighter II
Super Star Wars
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Wrecking Crew '98

Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy III
Dragon Quest V
Undercover Cop
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Dragon Ball Z Butoden 2
Metal Warriors
Aladdin
TMNT Turtles in Time
Gundam Wing Endless Duel

-No particular order

Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars
Kirby Super Star
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
Super Metroid
A Link To The Past
Earthbound
Super Castlevania IV
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Mega Man X

In no particular order...
  • Super Mario World
  • Earthbound
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Final Fantasy VI
  • Final Fantasy IV
  • Sim City
  • Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past

I can't believe nobody's asked that question here yet ! The SNES/SFC was absolutely magical when it was lauched and throughout its life.
You know I'm right !
Post your favorite SNES/SFC games here, in any order you like. No more than 10 if possible.
Chrono trigger, Castlevania Dracula X and Mega man X 3

I have to bring out the Yoshi’s Island card. Terrible 100%, but incredible game.

My big thing right now? Explore the library and see if I can find some hidden gems. Probably not hidden from EVERYONE, but hidden to me.

Not my favorite but always had a soft spot for Goof Troop. Was one of my first games ever and was my first Capcom game and still ranks pretty high on my fav games from them.

The Stardust Crusaders and Ghost Sweeper Mikami SFC games are also some of my favorites. Stardust Crusaders was already good material for a banger JRPG and GS Mikami is just a really solid platformer based off of one of my favorite manga.

Q*Bert 3 is also one I don't see brought up much. IT IS GOOD.

Ofc there's all the classics like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy V, Mega Man X, Star Fox, etc.

Finally playing Final Fight 3 sometime soon, very very excited ! ! !

01. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

This here isn't just a game; it's a religion. Your arguments are invalid! Seriously, though, I've been a fan of the series since the very first game. After the arguable second installment (which I actually liked quite a lot), this one felt like magic. It still does. Up to this moment, this is the best in the series, in my opinion.

02.Star Trek: The Next Generation - Future's Past

2411866-star-trek-the-next-generation-futures-past-snes-briefing-room.png

This one can feel a little too confusing to a new player, especially with no guide at hand. But come on, it's Trek! And even though The Next Generation was always my least favorite one out there (I totally prefer either the original series or things that TNG spawned, like DS9 for example), this one still feels magical.

03.Gekisō Sentai Carranger: Zenkai! Rēsā Senshi

Ca-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-arranger!~ What can I say? Super Sentai FTW! It's sad that we don't have enough games based on those tokusatsu shows. Like most Sentai games, this one is too easy, but it's fun, the original charm is there, and there are even two different endings.

04. Batman Forever

Keaton >>>>>> Bale. Your arguments are invalid! No, seriously, I'm far from being a big fan of Bats, but Burton's movies were great, and this game totally got the charm right. That driving stage was far from being perfect, but aside from that, this game is pure charm. It was a perfect addition to the movie back then, and it still works as a great beat 'em up today.

05.The Lost Vikings

1133461-the-lost-vikings-snes-a-gate-into.png

A perfect blend of action and puzzles. Simple like that.

06.Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts

15671135-super-ghouls-n-ghosts-game-boy-advance-equipped-with-your-faithf.png

Huge fan of the series here (as long as we don't count those ports for personal computers, that is). It sure felt right at home on SNES.

07.Street Fighter II

16459141-street-fighter-ii-amiga-chun-li-kicks-e-honda.png

The best fighting game at the time. No competition.

08.Super Metroid

15880685-super-metroid-snes-another-boss-fight-push-him-into-the-lava.png

The game that gave name to the genre, and up to this day, is considered one of the very best in it. Enough said.

09.Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

16013508-super-mario-rpg-legend-of-the-seven-stars-snes-wandering-around-.png

When it comes to Mario, I prefer Famicom games over what we had on Super Famicom. Also, the Super Famicom certainly had lots of great RPGs. This one, though? With its casual approach? There was just something very special about it.

10.Mega Man X

2020797-mega-man-x-snes-attacking-a-giant-robot-bug-thing.png

What can I say? It was everything I wanted it to be. Simple as that. I've been a fan since the very first game, and aside from being extremely spectacular, this one did a very smart thing: it managed to avoid feeling like they were beating a dead horse. If you know what I mean. If anything, the game felt fresh, which, at the moment, was a dang miracle. Well, that's the SNES magic for you, I guess.

No particular order:
Gaia Trilogy
Uncharted waters new horizons.
Lufia series.
Goemon series.
International superstar soccer deluxe.
Kunio kun games.
Assault suit Valken, Metal warriors, Gun hazard(all of those have similar gameplay)
Dragon Quest III
Return of the Double Dragon.
Super Family tennis and Super tennis.

Krusty's Super Fun House
TMNT IV - Turtles in Time

I'd include the Street Fighter games since I played countless hours on the SNES versions except now that the superior arcade versions are so widely available now, it sort of supercedes the former.

Actraiser 2 - Yes, I really liked the sequel even if everyone hated it. I mastered the tough controls mainly because I couldn't get the English version of Actraiser 1 in my country back then.
Actraiser 1 - Got to play with it through emulation years later. Liked it for a time but presently, I ended up preferring the remake, Actraiser Renaissance. I actually liked the Tower Defense.
Super Castlevania 4 (Japan) - I only played the original Japanese and still prefer that
Super Valis 4 - No english version of the original Valis 4 until now (but only for the Switch version which I don't own) so I played this instead for ages. I actually like the OST of this one over the PC Engine CD Rom version.
Batman Returns
Castlevania: Dracula X (Japanese) - While Rondo of Blood is the superior version, you can actually save everyone in one run unlike the original where you need to rescue some people in one route and kill Dracula, then save your game and start over to rescue the others in an alternate route. I feel like some immersion got lost when you have to do multiple playthroughs to save everyone.
Super Ghouls N Ghosts

I think I might end up adding the Goemon/Legend of Mystical Ninja (fan translated) series...once I get around to playing them.
