this is something i think about a lot, what's your favorite music video? as someone with a very vivid imagination, i'm always imagining visuals whenever im listening to music, and music videos scratch that particular itch for me.

personally, my favorite is probably Three MCs and One DJ by the Beastie Boys, i love the implication that the beasties are these three guys that reside in a basement, and only activate when their mixmaster starts scratching.

cosmic relief by nelward is another really good one, it's the perfect example of what nelward's style is like and it's got a lot of fun parts.

of course, i can't post about music videos without mentioning TMBG... they're probably my favorite band ever.

honorable mentions to Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz, i absolutely love the way that they animate both Russel and Del, it's so killer.

I have 2 to offer.
The first blew me away in '99 and has aged really well if i am honest:

The second one is because i cant watch it without laughing:

can't really think of a favorite but for now have one of my "videos to show to my friends when we are drinking past midnight"

in Brazil these became fairly famous memes because people would make fake dumb subtitles so I can't unlisten "tonico tonico com guarana" or this one:

good pick!! FBS always has such killer MVs, i think Weapon of Choice was one of the first songs by him i ever heard and it was because of this video. reminds me, Ya Mama also has a really good MV... if you havent seen it before, it's pretty great.
I heard his song on the radio few times but never watch any of the MV, I remember it was on MTV when I saw this the first time and it just somehow stuck in my head.

One of the best animated music videos I’ve ever seen! It compliments Rick’s storytelling perfectly, very surreal stuff. There’s a lot of “blink and you’ll miss it” images and symbolism here and there. Very detailed and expertly crafted video. I love it!

Plus check out Rick’s debut Great Adventures, the Bomb Squad produced it (same group that produced Public Enemy and Amerikkka’s Most Wanted by Cube.)

Not my favorite but I periodically go back to watch it. The way this thing moves to the beat I just can't..

This one was the one that made me ask myself ''WTF'' the most when I was a very young kid. Turns out it became a classic to me.

Same thing for this one but bonus for the hypnotic choregraphy

Fatboy Slim with Weapon of Choice too but someone else already posted it here.

WARNING: NSFW - tons of swearing
You stole Windowlicker from me! How dare you?!
I didn't know there was a NSFW cut of Sledgehammer. ;)
The entire song is literally Peter Gabriel singing about how he wants to fuck you! It's a miracle he's even wearing clothes for it.

Thankfully, Rubber Johnny was not stolen from me. The song's actual title is Afx237 v.7 off the Aphex Twin album Drukqs. Good stuff. Takes a little bit to get to the actual music, but worth it.

This is a pretty impressive one. Learning how to perform the song backwards, especially for the lead singer, is pretty nuts. Great track too!

Well, judging by the amount of views on this song, this isn't exactly a deep pull, nothing wrong with that though! Just a fun, cute video for a song about getting drunk and cheating! Yay! Love the song as well, Seeed make some good shit.

I remember seeing this video on MTV early one morning and it blew me away. It was also the song that got my foot in the door for rap, though I didn't entirely slide in until I heard Positive Contact by Deltron 3030. Anyway, both the video and the song are classics. RIP MCA, you were always my favorite. :<

I always tended to avoid music videos as a kid (and still do) as I mostly felt they had nothing to do with the actual lyrics but was moreso a softcore p0rn video. Also, I prefered to let my own imagination run wild. That said, there is one fan video that comes to mind.

what music videos did you watch to get that impression?

Don't know how I forgot about this one! Never thought I'd see creepy and evil Falkor with Trent Reznor's super distorted singing. I'm glad it happened.
