Favorite music genre?

Not sure if I know what kind of genre I love, but most of them goes like HEEHEE and then I'M BAD

Probably Pop, Michael Jackson's kind of Pop

mostly metalcore and nu metal are my fav genres, but i also listen to jap rock/metal too, they got a variety of good bands, also i dont mind the 2000s hip hop era songs

My taste is pretty weird, everyone who has seen my MP3 playlist say the same thing.

90s Hip hop
Skate punk
Video game and anime soundtrack

british classic rock, this is why the beatles are number 1 in sales of all time over everyone, including people who came before them like elvis.all the best music artists are briitish classic rock groups. led zeppelin, pink floyd, queen. the beatles.black sabbath, the list goes on and on.

Punk music is always great and what I grew up with.

Extreme metal now that I’m older and just want to listen to fast stuff.

Video game soundtracks cause who doesn’t love that?

Hard to pick a single genre, as I've shifted over time from one thing to another. But just to name a few:
  • punk rock (moreso 70s punk, hardcore, and 90s new punk than pop punk)
  • post-punk
  • synthpop /synthrock
  • shoegaze
  • goth rock
  • alternative rock (or college rock, or indie rock, or whatever you want to call it)
  • grunge
  • industrial
  • electronica
  • Britpop (aside from Oasis, whomst I've never liked)
  • trip-hop
  • Nintendocore
  • synthwave

Oasis is probably the earliest artist I can remember hating not just for their music, but for their personality. Those guys did nothing but ?talk everyone else, no matter how skilled they were, while they did nothing but imitate Beatles-era musicians. There were other musicians who were musically similar that I didn't actively listen to, but only Oasis put an effort into annoying the public while also being mid.

(Note that Kid Rock hadn't gotten big yet and I wasn't yet aware of Ted Nugent and his pro-child abuse songs, so Oasis was the worst at the time as far as what the media presented. I was aware of Guns n' Roses, but I didn't hear about Axl's violent behavior towards women and the Cobain family yet.)

Honestly, genres have always confused the hell out of me. x) Mostly because of just how many genres bands tend to fall under. There's so many genres too! I'm too old for that shit. That said, I think I can throw a list together that should sum up my overall tastes.

Industrial Metal/Rock
Electronic Rock
Grunge
Alternative Rock/Metal
Trip Hop
New Wave
(Alternative) Hip-Hop
Shoegaze
Synth-Pop
Psychedelic Rock/Pop
(Dark) Ambient
Electronica
Downtempo

I think that should be good enough. Maybe? I don't know. I'm honestly willing to listen to most anything when it comes down to it, but I looked up my favorite bands and those were the most common genres.

well i dont care how oasis acts, i like their music, and since i am a beatles fan, even more reason to like oasis music, if you're going to copy someone it might as well be the greatest music artists of all time.who better to copy?

I got favorites for different moods, but typically my top few are:
1: Shoegaze
2: Pop Punk
3: Post-Hardcore
4: 2010's RnB (think The Weeknd, SZA, Frank Ocean)
5: Video Game/Anime

Symphonic metal and power metal definitely, and gothic metal a little, but I need to explore that subgenre more. I just like super-technical guitar riffs, orchestration, and bands that use fantasy themes in their music. The nerdier the better! Nightwish, Rhapsody of Fire/Luca Turilli, Within Temptation, Van Canto, Frozen Crown, Lacuna Coil, Owlbear, Fellowship, Empress, and Yngwie Malmsteen are some of my faves.

I like some death metal too, especially when the singer is female, because that's super cool. So, like, I've been listening to Venom Prison and the Call of Duty Zombies soundtrack a lot lately.

And, um, Taylor Swift.

Oh my GOD I haven't listened to Within Temptation in forever! I used to listen to Faster allll the time. I recently rediscovered this Finnish band I used to listen to a lot called Sonata Arctica, have you heard of them?
