Favorite music genre?

Oh my GOD I haven't listened to Within Temptation in forever! I used to listen to Faster allll the time. I recently rediscovered this Finnish band I used to listen to a lot called Sonata Arctica, have you heard of them?

Yeah, I like Sonata Arctica! I was around for their Days of Grays and Stones Grow Her Name albums back in the day. It's been a while since I've thought of them. I should definitely go back and listen to some of their earlier work. ?

1) Heavy Metal, Progressive Metal, Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Industrial Metal (NIN), Death Metal (Death).
2) Progressive Rock, Hard Rock, Blues Rock, Art Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Folk Rock (Jethro Tull), Punk Rock, Alternative Rock/Grunge.
3) Jazz-Fussion
4) Jazz Rock
5) Progressive Pop
6) Synth Pop
7) Brit-Pop (Oasis, Blur)
8) Post-punk (Joy Division, Kino)
9) New Wave (in general)

Primarily metal - favorite subgenres are second wave metalcore, melodic death metal, industrial metal, and avant garde nu metal. I also like a lot of radio rock/post-grunge bands.
I'm also really into synthwave, industrial, and other forms of heavy and goth electronic music.

I listen to a fair bit of medieval folk/sea shanty type music, and could probably name you at least one artist in every other genre that I like. But I'm primarily into metal, industrial, and medieval style folk music.

I like a lot of different things, it'd be easier to list genres I don't like. My favorite music tends to be stuff that is hard to define, though. Artists that are really unique and have a very distinct sound to them.

Drum And Bass.
Rock.
Metal. (All kinds)
Jazz.
Reggae.
Samba.
Bossa Nova.
Techno.
Eurobeat.
Symphonic Metal and Rock.
Baroque.
Rap. (From the 80's-00's. Modern Mainstream Rap sucks).

Soundtracks (mainly games and anime) and anison (anime music). I always loved soundtracks. I really loved Pokemon music when I was an early teenager, and I still do. I started to listen to anison too when I became more of a weeb and nowadays I listen to both in an equal amount, although lately I think I've been listening to anison a bit more. I also used to listen to movie soundtracks a lot before I became a weeb (mainly Batman, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks), and while I don't listen to them nowadays they're still great pieces of music. I was never particularly into more normie genres, I do have a few non-anime J-Pop/Rock songs I listen to but that's probably about it.

Which one's your favorite?

Hip hop
House
Techno

My favorite anison is 99.9 from Mob Psycho 100 and my favorite soundtrack is Heaven from Persona 4.
Really good ones! I knew Heaven but I didn't listen to it much since I haven't reached that point in the story yet, but it's really beautiful. I never listened to the Mob Psycho 100 one though, I'm definitely saving it, pretty great! We might have similar anison and soundtrack tastes lol.

There's more that I like but those two are my favorites.
By the way, you've got great music taste.
Mathemagics is great.

Yeah same, there are a lot more I love and picking just 2 was really hard lol, but if I had to choose 2 it'd probably be them. Another anisons I really love and really can't go on without mentioning are Iris from SAO and Hitorigoto.
EDIT: Also Kono Yubi Tomare from Kakegurui.
Those are absolute FIRE! ::fire

I listen to pretty much every music genre there is but my personal favourites are:
Prog Rock.
Instrumental Hip-Hop
Jazz-Rock
House.
Cool Jazz.

Ikr?! Idk what I would have done if I didn't mention them hahahaha. Hitorigoto is probably the most known one but Kono Yubi Tomare and Iris are really, really underrated for some reasons.
My other favorite anison is Mixed Nuts from Spy X Family and also Sonic Drive from Sonic X.
And Ranbu No Melody from Bleach.

Oh yeah, I love Mixed Nuts too! Sonic Drive and Ranbu no Melody are pretty great too! Definitely my kind of music lol. I'm more for the energic fast paced ones that keep you hooked rather than the slower paced, calmer kind (an exception to this though is Perfect Slumbers from Monogatari, it's more slow paced but it still keeps you hooked and doesn't bore you), and the ones you sent really catch this vibe.
Sorry for my bad music terminology lol

Whoops, I didn't read the last part of the message. Thank you very much, you too!
Mathemagics is great.
Glad you liked it!

probably Neo-Psychadelia. It's probably my most listened to genre, and I cannot get enough of it. It's so pleasant and makes me so happy. Here's some of my favourite examples.

Candy Claws and Mag Bae, good taste!

I generally love all genres of music (or at least anything that can be called "music"). Lately I have been listening to a lot of classical, baroque, and renaissance music. (Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, Bach senior, Zelenka, Corelli, Monteverdi, Gesualdo da Venosa, Marenzio, Palestrina, Josquin des Prez, etc......
