1. Experimental Hip-Hop
Shit like Death Grips, Lifeseeker, Clipping., Ho99o9, 1-800 PAIN, Saul Williams, El-P, etc. I also lump in a lot of stuff that's usually considered Alternative Hip-Hop like RTJ, Danny Brown, Young Fathers and Aesop Rock because I generally like their more experimental stuff best (like Danny Brown's Atrocity Exhibition and Uknowhatimsayin¿ albums and Young Father's 28 Years Later soundtrack).
2. New Wave/Post-Punk
Everything from New Order and Siouxsie and the Banshees to Joy Division and Depeche Mode, to new stuff like Viagra Boys, Protomarytr and the Tempers. While they often have very different sounds and influences, I typically lump them together because, well, they've been associated since before I was born.
3. Industrial
All the Industrial subgenres. NIN, Marilyn Manson Angelspit, Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Ministry, Rob Zombie, CombiChrist- I like it all, from Industrial Rock to EBM influenced Aggrotech.
4. Digital Hardcore
The really crazy, extremely cyberpunk-influenced outfits like The Prodigy, Machine Girl, Fatboy Slim, Atari Teenage Riot, Kill Alters, etc. I particularly enjoy the Breakcore influenced stuff like Machine Girl and Kill Alters.
5. Hardcore Punk
Shit like Show Me The Body, Agnostic Front, Suicidal Tendencies, Body Count, Big Black, etc. It's a particularly amorphous genre I've noticed, with stuff like Viagra Boys getting lumped in with it despite the fact that they sound much closer to Post-Punk to me. Personally, I tend define the border between Hardcore Punk and Post-Punk as the horn section- if you have one, your Post-Punk. If not, Hardcore Punk.
