jamiroquai live in ebisu 95 is one the best perfomances i have ever listened, the instruments sound on a perfect point and my favorite songs from the performance are blow your mind, light years, scam and space cowboy but the rest are still pretty good

Nirvana Unplugged, Hi-C’s New York Set, that one awkward Anal Cunt concert, Megadeath Buenos Aires, Mac Miller Tiny Desk Concert, Weatherday at the Crystal Ballroom and Merzbow set in Taipei.

Probably my favorite ever:

I promise I'm not a normie who likes this "just because", I'm just an acually huge Queen fan:

Tight as hell, Layne and Jerry sounds perfect, Mike just violates the bass in the best way:

My favorite version of Scarborough Fair here but the whole thing is a treat:

I've always preferred how Geddy plays the bass in the live versions of this song, much more playful:

ヨルシカ LIVE「月と猫のダンス」
The full performance was already deleted but here is a sample

I think my favourite live performance was that of some funk band I had never heard of before or since at an impromptu concert in an abandoned factory near my place a couple years back that nobody recorded.
Tons of people, cramped as hell, no ventilation, lots and lots of booze and just the absolute best goddamn vibes ever.

Live performances are unique in that I feel like the best part of live performances is usually not necessarily the music itself but everything surrounding it. Or I might just be a complete philistine, that's also very possible.

Take this one for example:

I doubt this is going to translate culturally - not to mention that it's a very melancholic song in general - but that performance (which still moves me to literal tears) was a genuine cultural event in Germany back in the day and while I like the music, it's absolutely not what makes it meaningful.

Omgggg I have so much to show hereeee

The performance in glasgow is not exactly good but it was the first audio surfaced of Once in a Lifetime played live so it stuck with me

Here some of my favorites
•David Bowie - Heroes (Musikladen 1978)
•Alkaline Trio - Hell Yes (Metro 2002,not really live)
•Green Day - American Idiot (Optimus Alive Fes 2013)
•Muse - The Globalist+Drones (Yokohama 2017)
•Green Day - still breathing

Several great performances in this series. Better than Fake Taxi.
Post automatically merged:

Screw it, gotta double-post since the algo served me an on-theme banger. <3 Holy Locust.

I have a whole collection of shitty garage/punk live performances, some dating back to even the 80s. This one is definitely my favorite. It's currently the only known taping of this californian public access tv show.

I also HAVE to mention this absolute banger
Zuntata is the in-house band of video game developer and publisher Taito. Here they are playing "G" from the RayForce OST live on television

I promise I'm not a normie who likes this "just because", I'm just an acually huge Queen fan:
Queen is the rare band where the overplayed hits are all actually really damn good, but their deep cuts, holy shit. The creativity and experimentation on their 70s albums is something else and Brian May‘s guitar layering is unmatched to this day.

Speaking of great 70s live music:
Hard to choose a favorite with Gallagher though.

To restore my nerd cred a bit:
The whole concert is great but nothing compares to seeing them in person. Same with Swans or Melt-Banana:
Melt-Banana is probably my favorite live band by far. When I first saw them in 2008 I couldn’t listen to any music for a week straight because everything sounded boring by comparison.

Also on the top ten list of great live performances, the Melvins at Hellfest 2011
Don’t mind the video title, Phil Anselmo has thankfully nothing at all to do with the Melvins. He’s just standing on the side of the stage here, watching and the uploader put his unfortunate name in the title to attract viewers.
I saw the Melvins on this tour and it was crazy.

The best live band I’ve seen in the last couple of years were Zu with the drummer/singer of Ruins. It was pure insanity. They have an album out in April, recorded on that tour. You can listen to one preview track already:

This recording is a bootleg, but it's been fan-remastered so much, it might as well be an official live album.
Truly a great live recording. The energy from the audience--here layered directly over the soundboard recordings where available, lends a great atmosphere to these often overpowering and intense tracks.

Also might I add this incredible live album from one of the funniest men on earth! Great jokes, awesome atmosphere. Lots of fun moments of (occasionally unintended) crowd interaction. 10/10
(VERY NSFW)

Definitely. Fun fact: they were off their tits on mescaline because they had to go up and play way before they thought
