I promise I'm not a normie who likes this "just because", I'm just an acually huge Queen fan:
Queen is the rare band where the overplayed hits are all actually really damn good, but their deep cuts, holy shit. The creativity and experimentation on their 70s albums is something else and Brian May‘s guitar layering is unmatched to this day.
Speaking of great 70s live music:
Hard to choose a favorite with Gallagher though.
To restore my nerd cred a bit:
The whole concert is great but nothing compares to seeing them in person. Same with Swans or Melt-Banana:
Melt-Banana is probably my favorite live band by far. When I first saw them in 2008 I couldn’t listen to any music for a week straight because everything sounded boring by comparison.
Also on the top ten list of great live performances, the Melvins at Hellfest 2011
Don’t mind the video title, Phil Anselmo has thankfully nothing at all to do with the Melvins. He’s just standing on the side of the stage here, watching and the uploader put his unfortunate name in the title to attract viewers.
I saw the Melvins on this tour and it was crazy.
The best live band I’ve seen in the last couple of years were Zu with the drummer/singer of Ruins. It was pure insanity. They have an album out in April, recorded on that tour. You can listen to one preview track already:
