Favorite Junk Food?

Arby's and McDonnies.

Fresh McDonalds fries are hard to beat, but they lose a little luster if they sit too long.
We have an inside joke in my circle of friends that Mickie Ds fries are the best because of the "magic dust" they sprinkled right outta the fryer, when they sit too long, the buff wears off and it return to a stale and soggy state.

For large chains, Five Guys. Especially with their Cajun seasoning. Boy their prices have ballooned. For as much as they charge, I could just go to one of the local burger joints and eat for cheaper and it'd be better. x) Otherwise, there's a local (3 places in Iowa) chain called Charlotte's (Jonathan!) Kitchen. They haven't been open for long, but it's become our go-to. Reasonably priced and the fries are excellent. I don't even bother with ketchup!

A chain called Cuarto de Kilo (1/4 of a Kilogram) made the best fries of all chains until the pandemic. Now they taste like every other fry out there
So currently I'd day Carl's jr. just because they at least get the texture right and they are not too salty like BK

BURGER KING CURLY FRIES BABY THAT SHIT IS THE BEST HELL YEAHHHHH

Oh ... this is a tough one ... McDonald's is a classic ... but then KFC has a different taste that's still great too ! Gonna make KFC first though !

In N Out Animal Style fries. If that's cheating because they are covered in cheese, sauce, and onions, then maybe Taco Bell? The Nacho Fries are surprisingly decent, although the bar is pretty low. I don't usually get fries if I get fast food, I'd rather get a value menu burger or whatever is the same price as fries. I remember Arby's having good curly fries, but I haven't been there in years so that could have changed for all I know.

Can't go wrong with Rally's/Checker's. Except you can because recently they've been way too greasy. I ain't trying to eat hot oil with a side of potato. Arby's goes hard too.

@RageBurner Same, I'm not really a Fan of FF.
@Skeetos Arby's not bad
If i do happen to grab some Sodium and Grease, Long Jon's Fries are my Favorite. They taste the Same cold as Hot.... Like Batter

I hate eating Fast Food recently. I feel like it used to be better back in the day. But also back in the day for me is like 2007 or so and I know fast food in the 70's to the 90's was much better. Or so I hear from family members.

Yeah, I've been very conscious about food recently. But it's hard to care when your broke in America where 95% of the food is loaded with poison, and the only good food is so exorbitantly priced that you can't do much about it.

Five Guys is more expensive but its real food. Burger King, McDonalds, KFC etc I wouldn't even go to. If food is too cheap it means you're not really getting that. They bulk everything up with chemicals and have poor standards for animal welfare.

But the real question is what to dip the fries in. I dip Five Guys fries into chilli infused honey and it's the absolute bomb
Oh, don't get me wrong, I quite like Five Guys and I'll take the more expensive option than those other places any day. The big chains aren't even that cheap anymore anyway. We just have a couple really good local burger joints that are cheaper and just as good, if not better. Sadly, the nearest Five Guys is 20 minutes away one way, so we don't stuff ourselves with fries and peanuts very often.

I have never heard of chili infused honey, but it sounds amazing. We do have hot honey though, so I should try that next time I'm able. I'm usually just a basic bitch and use ketchup.

Checkers > Wendys > McDonalds > Culvers > Burger King as far as the big 5 in my area go. I love Burger King's burgers a ton, but their fries are def the least enjoyable despite still liking them

i live in Canada so Harveys french fries go super duper hard

Zaxby's and chick fil a and just about any place that uses season salt or sea salt. No matter how bad I know fast food is for me I will still get the fries.

Today I learned that there's microwavable hot dogs... more than a few, too.

I don't know, guys. I think we are crossing some sort of line with those. Regular hot dogs are already want I make when I wanna be lazy XD

Microwaveable hotdogs?! There’s a line between being lazy and a sloth, that hotdog crosses it.

If it's edible I like it. Reason being? I can't cook to save my life.
Story time, my job demanded me to go outta town for 2 weeks back in 2018, reimbursement claim takes too long in my office so I need to be smart with my food budget. Fortunately, boss booked me a motel, but I have no idea how to use the microwave or stove, my only choice is either eat outside or get creative. I chose the latter.

Here is my strategy:
Go to the market, buy canned sprats (the bigger the better), canned beans, a roll of aluminumum foil, sauce of your liking, toast bread that come in packs.
Back at the motel, cover the sprinkler with plastic or a piece of the aluninumum foil.
Take the clothes iron, I'm sure you all know where I'm going with this.
Make a makeshift stove, turn it around and use whatever to hold it in place, I usually use small chairs or tables, cover the iron surface with the alimuminum foil so it's easy to clean.
Day 1, enjoy the sprats, it should last you for lunch and dinner, once done don't throw away the can, it's gonna become our pan.

Every morning we only gonna eat toast, just put it in the pan and wait until it cooks, you can add sauce or jam or whatever, if alunumunim is burned after use, toss it and make a new one.
If you like coffee in the morning, buy a cheap one and make a huge batch on day 1, use your aluninunum foil to make a pot (may need the whole roll to make it so always keep an extra) to boil the water for coffee. Next morning I usually make a cup, again from the alinumilum, and I use the laptop adapter as coffee heater.

For dinner, we only gonna eat the beans, canned beans should last for few days or probably more, for variety you can buy cheap sides to go, like processed cheese or sausage, my personal fav is instant bolognese.

And that is how I survive 2 weeks in the uhhh wilds, it only cost about $26.

Some of the soup and instant noodle-type dishes from Asia are pretty great.
But often times even with those I end up adding things to make them into more of a meal.

You can heat pre-cooked frozen chicken tenders or hash browns in a toaster. No I don't mean a toaster oven, I mean a toaster. Tastes better than out of a microwave. Just unplug it before you use tongs to retrieve your food.

I usually eat rice or pasta with sauteed chicken and veggies. Occasionally I'll get a craving for hot dogs and ramen. It's nothing but salt and more salt with some cholesterol and carbs thrown in, so it's a rare event. Dry ramen, of course, I'm not putting hot dogs in soupy ramen.

Other times when I want shitty food, I'll get a Totino's pizza. They are...not great. Somewhat better when you add shredded cheese, pepperoni, canned mushrooms, onions or whatever else before throwing them in the oven or air fryer, which is usually what I do. My parents would do that now and then when I was growing up, so I suppose I am carrying on the tradition. Of course, a Totino's can also be heated up in the microwave, and then rolled up and eaten like the soggy, rubbery nightmare that it is.
