Whenever I step back into the original PlayStation ecosystem, hearing the full console intro is an essential part of the fun.

When an emulator skips it (be it the native one on PS2 or one reworked externally like PopStarter), I already consider it a false start.

Unfortunately, with later generations PlayStation introductions have become increasingly insignificant, but that’s another story.

The PS3 start up, I love its elegance, also the Epic Games logo from Gears of War 3, always gets me pumped.

Besides the PS1 startup, all the Game Boy/DS boot sequences have the same effect for me.

As for game intros, I often skip many of them, but here's a few that I just stop and watch sometimes:
