I struggle to find games like that, no combat no platforms just some kind of RPG that's all about exploring the world interacting with the characters managing your money and your needs customizing your flat and following the plot

most Sims games on portable consoles have their own unique vibe really like the Urbz on nds/gba (direct sequel to Bustin Out) and the sims 2 on psp (insane plot) and the sims 2 on nds (insane vibes really weird and uncanny)

I believe I played that Sims GBA game as well.
Mother 3, Broken Sword, Sword of Mana and Zelda Minish Cap.
Mother 3 was pretty fun and so was The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, though I haven't played those other two.

Metroid Fusion hands down, alongside the Megaman Battle Network games.
Mother 3 gets special mention though for being such an amazing game and one of the games to make me break down at the end.

The two Summon Night games I replay them a lot and also I would really love to play the third one View attachment 2554View attachment 2555
Hi hi! There are a lot more Summon Night games than just the Swordcraft spinoffs and to avoid confusion, I will avoid refering to Swordcraft: Hajimari no Ishi as anything related to third because the mainseries exist and there's already SN1 for the PS1+DS, SN2 for the PS2+DS, then SN3 and SN4 for the PS2+PSP. Somehow it creates so much confusion among international SN fans whenever I bring up Summon Night 3, and they think I'm refering to the Swordcrafts🥺 But I'm glad Summon Night gets crumbs of appreciation here, though I wish there would be discussions on Exthese, Grantese, mainseries, Twin Age and X soon! The SN Thesis and Swordcraft games are also the most closely related in terms of gameplay among all SN games of you're interested!

Hard to say. Even discounting the SNES ports, which is how I played most of those SNES games as a kid, there's just so much that the GBA got.

Zelda The Minish Cap, Mega Man Zero 3 and 4, Mega Man Battle Network 2, 3, and 5, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga which I just replayed and is still amazing, Pokemon obviously, Golden Sun, and many more that others have already listed in the thread.

Dude the swordcraft story games are SOOO good. I never cared about the main series, SWORDCRAFT STORY IS WHERE ITS AT!

The english translation for the 3rd game was never completed tho iirc. :/ I played till the translated part and it was still pretty good. it was around 70% complete i think.

I have no idea why they didnt continue this series. Imagine a DS or PSP Sword Craft Story!

I feel most of my favorite games have already been mentioned so I'll add a more niche game to the list-

Battle B-daman and its sequel Fire Spirits

I don't even know where to start. Its insane how they fit a game like this on the GBA. You don't even need to watch the Battle B-Daman anime or even know what B-Daman is to play this(Basically, you shoot marbles at your opponent), cuz the whole 2 seasons are pretty much integrated into the 2 games. The overworld is in a visual novel style and the battle takes place in a 3d space with 2D sprites. Even the battles feel impressive on a technical level. Other than that, there are a whole lot of parts you can get, that gives you insane amount of customizability for a gba game. You can customize, save and then choose a b-daman from your list before a battle. The plot and characters are also nice, nothing too crazy but i really like the characters. And the graphics...honestly I like the sprite art of the characters MORE than the anime's art. So it was the definitive way to experience Battle B-Daman for me. The 2nd game is a great improvement from the 1st but both are worth playing.
