What's the best first Digimon game for someone who hasn't played a Digimon game before?

It’s worth giving the original Digimon World a try, but if you aren’t interested in a V-pet game, Digimon World 3 is a good RPG, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is an excellent Smash Bros.-esque fighting game (also check out Battle Spirit if you like this), and all modern Digimon games make great jumping-on points.

Every Digimon game is separate from one another, so don’t worry about playing in any specific order. If you’re really interested in the concept, I’d also suggest watching a few episodes of the original Digimon Adventure series to get a feel for the world and monsters.

World 1 is historically fascinating because it’s probably semi at fault for muddying Digimon’s identity as a multi media franchise

I know it's not the main subject but is this me or Digimons are way more humanoid/human-like than Pokémon?

They almost remind me of SMT angels and demons (which fits since they're all digitally summoned).

So I don't get why people would complain about pokemons being more human-like (although they're not the same).

I'm less used to later gen ones.
