You should play Evergrace. Really early PS2 game and one of FromSoft's pre-souls era games. It's game play is more along the lines of an action RPG (Think of it like a 3D version of Secret of Mana if you've ever played that) but it has this bizarre, other-worldly atmosphere to it that I've never felt in any other game before.

I'm aware of Baroque. I much prefer the original Saturn/PS1 version to the PS2/Wii remake though I will say.
