I remember having a ton of fun while messing about with game-making tools such as Adventure Game Studio and, uh, GameMaker just to post glorified demos and downright trollish one-screen wonders for contests and fun.

Most of mine have been lost to time due to hard drive crashes and believing a little too strongly on the longevity of file-sharing services such as FreakShare and RapidShare, but I did have a rather grand time either solo-ing the whole thing or joining impromptu teams that happened to be recruiting (we only made it as far as to releasing a demo of an extremely crappy take on Monkey Island).

What about you?

I used to make a ton of such things...
I had a lot of fun with PowerPoint 97's buttons and action system...
Made many little animations and interactive little games with it...
I too lost a lot of them due to hard drive crash...

Later, discovered Multimedia Builder... it had a stronger action system, plus a scripting language too!
That was my first introduction to programming world!
Made a lot of little demos, games, etc... with it!

And later, i discovered GameMaker... i made a few games with it too... most of them were based on its own examples.
The most complete one is a space-shooter game filled with asteroids, enemy ships, and cool power ups!

Later, i got into programming staff... there's not much colorful demos from that era... but there's a ton of cool classes and functions which has meaning only for programmers...

Yes.

I know RPG Maker, WolfRPG, and Tweego, like the back of my hand from the many games I made with them, I am also well versed with Unity.

When I am learning a new programming language, I often make either a text adventure or a roguelike (shitty nethack clones) with it to quickly learn the syntax.

I once won the award for best music on a competition as well, and published a game (tied to real name, don't ask I won't give links) just to say I did.

And, code games when I am bored and feel like it.

I have tried to make games with my friends, but my entirely chaotic way of doing things doesn't mesh well with teamwork.

Nope. I think the last thing I would've done in this vein was something involving LOGO on Apple II, heh

A few years ago I saw someone sharing their GBStudio game, I told them it was fun but the graphics weren't great so I offered to redraw the sprites. We became friends and made a mascot horror game for the GameBoy where your main objective is to click on a plush and ward off your nightmares.
Not much after that, someone else was asking for help with another GBStudio game and we helped. And I got another friend with whom I made a silly game about a duck platforming in the void and collecting cookie, and he add some funny lore to it.
The three of us tried making some other games I feel like noone was as enthusiastic as me. Now I'm redoing one of those games for my finals project for school.
Those games might be simple but they helped me a lot during a time I felt terrible.

Never for a contest, but when I was a kid I used to make really simple point and click games in Powerpoint with hyperlinks. I don't really remember what they were about, I just remember I didn't have Flash and I didn't know about any game making tools back then. Me and my brother also made up a tabletop RPG for ourselves before we knew what those were. It was a sci-fi game and our characters were mercs. The rules were really loose and probably didn't make much sense but I remember having a lot of fun drawing a bunch of graph paper maps and making up bad guys to go after, I had a binder that I stored it all in. Long gone now though.

Used to make small games in Gamemaker Studio with my school friends for game jams. They were never really good but it was fun just trying to get around a coding limitation if we were trying to do something specific or work within whatever the theme of the jam was. I still make small games in GMS2 here and there to entertain myself and my friends, but nothing substantial that I would release. I do want to get back into coding (C specifically) and start making small games on stuff like the Gameboy.

I recently joined LSD JAM 2025 with the intent of making something as my first ever game, since the submission period is very generous (about 4 months).

I am yet to start working on it. Only put a few concepts in paper but haven't stopped to properly plan anything.

Several years ago, a friend of mine and I jokingly decided to work on a game made with RPG Maker about a man who lives the same day after day, and who discovers he's the protagonist of a book possessed by a bookseller who, like him, possesses the lives of all living beings in the world. It was supposed to be a game with dozens of different endings, each based on the choices made during the game.

I was only supposed to write the plot. The problem was, we didn't have time, and we didn't work on it anymore.
