Emulation is the best thing that happened in my life.

this view of aLL console emus as inaccurate at best - I stiLL have a lot of consoles bought over the years (even with the few that got stolen in like 2005) n test out games both emulated n legit-console-ran, side-by-side - a lot of them even up to '128-bit era' run at same FPS, no responsiveness/input latency issues - n if anything, briefer load times. some have issues but sayin that 8 & 16-bit aren't emulated properly (for the majority of their libraries with few exceptions) reminds me a lot of oLskooL 'audiophiles' who even purport n assert that even FLACs n WAVs use horrid compression techniques n quality doesn't touch vinyL - hey, wutevR helps you feel vindicated as a collection OG warrior in deniaL of the inevitability of obseletion in formats or aspects once solely viable... tbh though. it's admirable as I have actively lived through vidyegame history born Spring of '79 - startin off with TI99/4A n Commodore 64 at about 3-4 yrs old in '84 or thereabouts... n I admire gamers who wiLL settle for nothing leSS than the true experience originaLLy intended \m/ but convenience n budget cry for emulated digital libraries xD

In the NES days I too wished I had every game. It came true!

I think it's true there is added input lag through emulation a lot of the time, particularly playing on a computer VS a CRT TV... but it's just a few frames, and it doesn't make a difference except in games that demand really tight reactions, like Punch-Out or maybe games with QTEs. And a lot of emulators have options to compensate for that by now.

well yea - I play more fighters than any other gaming genre n they can go to dumpster diarrhea-shit on every fundamental lvl without 100% accurate frame-data/feeL - or worse, inconsistent variance. but I mean even a lot of Steam games that would run at 60fps on a potato PC seem to have input lag at times - I mean, not-in-game lag barely matters but you ever play KOF XV? the title screen that prompts you to press any button doesn't register your input till about 3 sec after the press. I think it's initializing network integration might be reason for the delay but there's plenty of times I get input lag or non-registered/skipping issue on other games as weLL where that same excuse can't be made

Saturn emulation suffers bad from input issues. Trying to perform moves like back, forward,+punch is very inconsistent in games like Fighters Megamix.

True True! They don't sell consoles in my country so without emulation I would have never been able to experience all the masterpieces that are not on PC. Like Pokemon is my all time favourite but I would have never be able to play them without emulation. So I'm immensely grateful to the awesome people who makes these amazing emulators.
