Another extensive hack by Sliver X set in a gritty world, utilizing the Final Fantasy 1 engine this time, to offer a completely new experience.

Author(s): Sliver X, Thaddeus
Type: Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Script
Version: Final 2
Date: 17th of June, 2008
Status: Complete
Source: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/143/

RB's Notes 1: As before, obscurumlux01 offers an easier mode alternative patch, although it doesn't alter the map as it did in the first Dragoon X Omega; rather it focuses on lessening the grinding and tweaking equipment to create a less frustrating, more streamlined experience. Inside the same archive you'll find a variant in which the bosses have been strengthened considerably to pose more of a challenge, if you so choose.

No problem. Having recently finished the first, I'll say that there are important plot threads that carry into the sequel, but it's not that would outright require playing the prequel (still interesting, though).
Well, anyways and for the order's sake, I'mgoing to play the precuel first, hehe, ^-^/.

Is it necessary to play firstly the first part to understand the lore? :'d?

You know, at least in Panzer Dragoon, your actually fighting on a mount. What the hell could've possible motivated them to call this game such a string of gobbledygook words outside of being the coolest ones they could find in the dictionary?

Also, I've got the sneaking suspicion that the main character's mugshot is Arnold Schwarzenegger from Total Recall, you know, where he's got the turban wrapped around his head to pull out the tracker out of his nose?
No idea about either point, honestly.

I remember trying the first game back in the day, curious if this is a direct sequel or a standalone game.
It seems to be a sequel. The author is actually reworking this game, and while there is no ETA, one of the stated objectives is fleshing out the lore.
