Just get the AppImage, it'll reinstall it with the latest updates.
(It's stupid you can't just update it through the terminal)
Then right click it, go to permissions and tick the little box that says "Allow executing file as program" Then run it and follow the instructions.

Okay, so you have a flatpak version. I would just type "flatpak update" into the terminal, that should do it? But linux mint update manager or whatever should be able to do that for you, you shouldn't need to manually dl something. I don't know mint that well though, but from googling looks like it recently allowed flatpak updates via the manager, so I would try to find that option first.

Yea, that's what is looks like mint should do, it should update flatpaks along with any system update?

The build in the chaotic-aur on Garuda linux works perfect, no flatpak needed, just saying... I'm a garuda linux dickrider though

i used an appimage, when i want to update, just take the new one

take the "x64 appimage". the 'arm' ones is for mobile devices.

the only thing that makes me sad is that i can't (or don't know how) make it a portable install

You have to download it from GitHub, no other way with DuckStation. I don't know why, but the guy who made it has a hair up his ass about it and won't let it update via terminal. I forget the reason, but you have to download the update or reinstall to get the updates.

Also @JustCallMeConstantin CPU-X is basically the Linux CPUID.
in the terminal type "sudo apt install cpu-x" <no quotes>
