I’m sure I’m stating the obvious, but if by “power” we mean pure personal ambition at the expense of the collective, then the individual is already corrupt before they even obtain it. If, on the other hand, we are talking about exercising authority aimed at the common good, then it is not so much a matter of power as it is of responsibility. This logic applies to every sphere, whether it be business, politics, or religion.

Yes, because it is human nature to take something that could be good and beneficial and completely twist it out of shape — very few people are equipped to handle the power without surrendering to it.

Power is neutral, just like any tool. Power isn't something you posses, is something you use.

What happens is that it attracts those who wish to use it for their own gain, as its the nature of the ahrimanic world we live in.

Since the spirit (the self) is dead in most of humanity, people turn to either power, fame, and/or money, to solve their problems.
