PS3 Do you still have a PS3?

I've had a 1st-Gen phat PS3 for the past 15-ish years. However, I've only used it every once in a while... that is until recently..

I've finally got around to putting a 1TB ssd in it, and properly 'jailbroken' it.. ::crack-bandicoot
Luckyyy

I would slap Metal Gear Solid 4, Tales of Xillia 1 and 2, Twisted Metal, Drakengard 3 and Front Mission Evolved on that bad boy immediately if it was me.

Never owned a PS3. At 12, I made the leap from the Wii to the Xbox 360, and I don't regret it at all.

Today, I'd buy a PS3 just for its backwards compatibility: just pop the hard drive in with the PS2 and PS1 games and off you go.

I've only had the chance to play a PS3 once, 10 years ago. I helped my cousin complete... Spider-Man 3. Yes, I know... Spider-Man 3.

I own two PS3's. One has offical firmware on, a 500gig HDD and a ton of games both bought and from PS+ monthy games.

The other PS3 I have is the greatest PS3 ever owned by man!

Had this lot delivered yesterday should have a free enough weekend to have a go at red dead and dragon age II looks really nice

A modded PS3 is practically an essential with today's game prices, hundreds of great games from 3 generations, definitely still worth owning.

Yeah, I've been thinking about modding one of my PS3's, but I've not read up on it yet. Do you know the latest firmware that supports hacking it?

My son returned my super slim he’s had for about 12 years this past Sunday. Completely forgot I had it. Loads of games on the hdd and a few games along with it all came back. Managed to get it all set up on psn but not had a chance to play on it yet.

Yep. And a PS4 Pro, PSP, PS Vita, PS TV, PS5, and PS5 Pro. You would think I didn't have a grudge against Sony as a company, but... I have no excuse.

I do. I constantly keep asking myself if I should jail break it.
I did a few years ago then Sony pushed a supposed "update" to the blu-ray drive and it killed my console. I had to buy a SATA to usb cable, pull the hard drive out, and reinstall the operating system. Works fine now, but I was pissed.

I keep my PS3 in its box. I think I'll sell it in 20 years.

I do not own one but my friend does. He managed to get HEN in it so he's gotten a few gems in there already.

I always like using that thing, the ui is so neat and the library has just about every 7th gen game that I like (though I only know those games from pc ports).

Yep, after all I do have a library with physical PS3 games. But it has been boxed since a while and considering most of PS3 games got remastered I can really think of few exclusives I could play in there. Maybe I can think of trying those "vanilla" versions as an excuse to second playthroughs or something (rip my sanity when I'll do it with Uncharted 1 and reach the final part).

Yeah I have some. My one that I bought new I busted when changing thermal paste. When I am motivated I will retrace my steps and see if I put a ribbon cable in too loosely, That was my super slim i got in 2013 that came with last of us and arkham origins.

it sucks but considering how unreliable the games industry is at large for console owners specifically it is kind of a necessity that ive been lucky enough to be mostly covered for in terms of sony stuff
