PS3 Do you still have a PS3?

I still have two working jailbroken PS3s (80gb Fat and 128gb Slim). I still play LBP1 & LBP2 (Online with the Beacon servers) and other PS3 games on my slim console. I'm planning to upgrade to 1tb for the slim.

Yeah! Been playin it a ton lately, has been my most played console most years since getting mine some 12 years ago c:

I said a page or two back that I still had mine, and I still do.

But I don't know, with RPCS3 getting better and better, more compatible, and easier resource wise to run with each update, having a physical PS3 kind of seems like a moot point anymore.

And yes, I do understand that not everyone has a PC that can run the emulator. I'm not saying anyone should toss their PS3 in the dumpster or anything.

I honestly don't know and couldn't tell you the last time I fired up the old girl. It might have been several months ago or maybe less, but not much less. Just because I wanted to yank a game off it so I didn't have to bother re-downloading it from another site that starts with V.

One thing that I rarely see discussed anymore is how solid of a media player the PS3 is. Sony REALLY wanted it to be a little everything box and they pretty much succeeded. Sure, nowadays it's pretty much useless for streaming, but the real money is in its physical media playback capabilities!

The PS3 can do Blu-Ray just fine, but it's also an AMAZING DVD player. The upscaling it does seriously makes DVDs look almost 720p native, plus if your system is jailbroken you can bypass region locks just fine. Add onto that one of the best remote designs I've ever used to this day with the optional media remote accessory, a solid CD player with fancy features like SACD playback and it's still a solid media center option!

Not to mention any videos one might copy to it via USB. I've got a few TV shows still saved on mine.

Yep lol, I'm pretty sure I still have tons of pirated anime clogging up my system's hard drive to this day. I think at some point I even set up a batch script that would convert an entire folder of videos to the specific format it took lol.

Yep, still have my Slim model. Honestly, I hardly ever play it though.
Its mostly my Guitar Hero machine at this point, since I never got into figuring out how to emulate that and integrate it with my guitar. But like I said, I don't play it much anymore

I sometimes even hear music via a flash usb, it´s just an all-in system!

So am I wrong or did I once read something about dual sense controllers working with the PS3? It's hard to go back to using PS3 controllers after using PS4 and PS5 controllers.

i still have a ps3 slim i was gifted in 2011 but i can't remember using it for actual games in the past 5-7 years, instead mostly just using it to watch a few blurays. most games available on there i'd wanna give another go with are probably also on PC anyway

I think so, but I don't think it works with every game. I definitely did that when my last PS3 controller died (before a friend gave me another one), but I can't remember what games it did work for.

I have the OG model from way back in 2007, still works like a charm for the most part. Only reason I use it these days is for trophy lists I want to finish up for some of my favorite games on the console.
