Yes History and the ocean continue to be fixations of mine

There's no heresy here, pretty sure we all go through phases of watching more than playing things at times.Technically, aren't "hyperfixations" just hobbies?
Though, I'm pretty obsessed with trivia about videogames in general, so DidYouKnowGaming on Youtube was pretty much the only thing I frequented for a very long time. Their researches on the Satellaview, the Nintendo 64 DD and many such things like this (such as elucidating on the story of Gunpei Yokoi was incredible to me, it was all I could think about for a while, about how much magic of videogames we owe to him. Just wish DYKG did something that ISN'T Nintendo sometimes
One of my more prominent interests is trying to learn much more about history of Japan and how that has reflected upon their media. A friend of mine had a university paper made all about it and ever since he showed me it, it developed into how it is now. Watching the original Gojira has not only kicked off my massive obsession for all things Tokusatsu, films and alike I feel like it kind of swapped how I used to be with how I spent my spare time. Videogames used to be the only thing I do with it, but now I spend alot more of my time watching things rather then playing things. Maybe that's heresy to this forum?
I'm also hopelessly addicted to mecha
Ever since I watched the original 1979 Gundam on my birthday a few years back, it evolved into a massive love for the genre itself. Felt like I unlocked something that's intrinsically a part of me, During my massive binge of the franchise I used to be able to name all the codenumbers of the suits itself, such as the RX-78-2 Gundam, the MS-18E Kampfer to keep things simple for example's sake. Now I'm also addicted to super robots.

I remember seeing 13 Sentinels around but I remember that it just did not exist on PC like many other Vanillaware games I've been interested in.I highly recommend:

MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED on Steam
Launch a counteroffensive to take back the Earth from alien invaders in this mecha action RPG.store.steampowered.com
13 Sentinels: Aegis rim
The first has many super robot elements and also focuses very much on the human drama if you're in want of games with similar vibes, the second has more grounded real robot vibes. Gundam had a very armored core 6 looking game revealed recently and looks like a serious effort at a modern Gundam game that isn't some novelty crossover. Finger crossed and all that![]()
If they think I'm bound to their chains of legality, then they got another thing comin'!Damn right, Pearly! I love going through history of what happened during that time to get a further appreciation of it more. There's no heresy here, pretty sure we all go through phases of watching more than playing things at times.
Many of us wouldn't be on this forum without the influence of Japanese games and Tv shows from the 80's and 70's![]()

SameYes, because of adhd, but I try not to annoy people with it. So i usually never talk about what im fixating over.
Name me every mainline Beatmania releaseMy hyperfixations throughout the year, but Beastars, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts remain constants. I was way into Kamen Rider from January to April-ish and Beatmania IIDX from April to late May (I can still name every single mainline release if you ask me).

Beatmania IIDX 2nd through 10th mix plus substream. RED, Happy Sky, DistorteD, Gold, DJ Troopers, Empress, SIRIUS, Resort Anthem, Lincle, Tricoro, Spada, Pendual, Copula, Sinobuz, Cannon Ballers, Rootage, Heroic Verse, Bistrover, CastHour, Resident, EPOLIS, Pinky Crush, and Sparkle Shower (I can’t prove that it was off the top of my head, you’ll just have to trust it was). They’re the COD of Rhythm Games since they’ve given us yearly releases. I’m still so bummed there aren’t any cabinets close to where I live.Name me every mainline Beatmania release![]()
