Though, I'm pretty obsessed with trivia about videogames in general, so DidYouKnowGaming on Youtube was pretty much the only thing I frequented for a very long time. Their researches on the Satellaview, the Nintendo 64 DD and many such things like this (such as elucidating on the story of Gunpei Yokoi was incredible to me, it was all I could think about for a while, about how much magic of videogames we owe to him. Just wish DYKG did something that ISN'T Nintendo sometimes

One of my more prominent interests is trying to learn much more about history of Japan and how that has reflected upon their media. A friend of mine had a university paper made all about it and ever since he showed me it, it developed into how it is now. Watching the original Gojira has not only kicked off my massive obsession for all things Tokusatsu, films and alike I feel like it kind of swapped how I used to be with how I spent my spare time. Videogames used to be the only thing I do with it, but now I spend alot more of my time watching things rather then playing things. Maybe that's heresy to this forum?

Felt like I unlocked something that's intrinsically a part of me, During my massive binge of the franchise I used to be able to name all the codenumbers of the suits itself, such as the RX-78-2 Gundam, the MS-18E Kampfer to keep things simple for example's sake. Now I'm also addicted to super robots.

Many of us wouldn't be on this forum without the influence of Japanese games and Tv shows from the 80's and 70's

Super robots is like tokusatsu style mecha and I just couldn't get into it at all.

Gundam had a very armored core 6 looking game revealed recently and looks like a serious effort at a modern Gundam game that isn't some novelty crossover. Finger crossed and all that

After falling in love with the original Final Fantasy I had a hyperfixation on RPGs, so much that I blew $40 on Kings Knight and Hydlide (on separate occasions) simply because the boxes hinted the games were RPGs. Of course those were important life lessons, so ultimately this was good.

I remember seeing 13 Sentinels around but I remember that it just did not exist on PC like many other Vanillaware games I've been interested in.
There's talks I hear about that though, that they want to do it but their publishers need to give the okay. If publishers don't want money, then I suppose emulation's always there If they think I'm bound to their chains of legality, then they got another thing comin'!

I have played Megaton Musashi a bit, I think it wastes a lot of time with needlessly complicated upgrade systems and what not, but I plan to give it a proper bash when I've experienced more of the collabs they offered.

Cause ya know, Combattler V, Mazinger Z, Voltes V, and even Getter Robo are seriously cool. I'm a massive fan of Getter Robo Armageddon, and I loved Combattler V and Mazinger, so I want to watch Voltes and some more of Getter stuff to truly appreciate the vibe.
It really looks like one of the only cool mecha games that exist out there.

There's also that recent game made for Grendizer, and it looks so cool! I have that on my watchlist too, so I plan to play the game after I've got my fill of it's source material.

Woodwind instruments, and I don't mean just playing them. I love listening to them and also studying the history of them. I'm such a nerd that in high school I always had a book on the history of woodwind instruments with me.

(Even my username - Harmonie - refers to an old term for small ensembles of woodwind and brass instruments)

Music history in general, too. Case in point whenever I've used medieval music genres/terms for naming many characters and stuff in video games. Like in Stardew Valley, I name all of the animals with that naming convention. First the Formes Fixes (I lovvvveeeee French Medieval music!)!

In my early to mid-teens I hyperfixated on Animal Crossing. The GCN game had just came out and it was so groundbreaking for me. I had never known any game like it and it felt like the perfect fit for what I wanted out of games. I was obsessed. I documented every single animal villager ever in my towns, documented how all of my towns looked like, etc. And I was a complete and total mess when one of my towns corrupted. I, 14 years old, was bawling and my parents had to be like "it's just a game", but that wouldn't stop me. It was one of the worst days of my entire like for me back then. lol

I can't name any other fixation than planning out and organizing my troops in RTS games , stuff like creating infantry squads that feel fitting for the faction in what they do and how they fight

Stuff like:
Infantry squads for NOD in Tiberian Sun consist of 5 light infantry/3 rocket infantry , small squad that can carry out light assaults and skirmishes

Cyborg/storm squads , these consist of 5 cyborgs and since cyborgs are tough they are used in tasks that require a lot more muscle

I just plan out my entire doctrine like this , then ctrl+X number to control group that with infantry occupying control group 1/2 and vehicles with 3/4/5 and aircraft being 7/8/9

This way i can live out my highly detailed and well organized fictional armies that i love to micro manage


Let's see what else? Ah yes! Becoming a dentist yes yes that's something i need to work harder for gotta fixate a lot more on it cuz currently it didn't reach the hyper stage of fixation so i need to do it!

Oh and getting in shape once again , i don't care what happens as long as I'm working out daily know that I'm gonna feel good

Yes, because of adhd, but I try not to annoy people with it. So i usually never talk about what im fixating over. Usually lasts for about 3 weeks but I haven't been on a hyperfixating kick for a while.

I'm actually on a small kick right now but I wouldn't call it a hyperfixation. My brain is being nice to me for once.

RED, Happy Sky, DistorteD, Gold, DJ Troopers, Empress, SIRIUS, Resort Anthem, Lincle, Tricoro, Spada, Pendual, Copula, Sinobuz, Cannon Ballers, Rootage, Heroic Verse, Bistrover, CastHour, Resident, EPOLIS, Pinky Crush, and Sparkle Shower (I can’t prove that it was off the top of my head, you’ll just have to trust it was).
