How old are you? your reasoning is kind of awkward because if you like videogames when you have money you will eventually start "caring about them" again. The title of the thread seems more like a reason people would have to stop liking modern games, regardless of their economic situation.I dont care about them bc I cant afford the hardware to run them.

to be a bit fair, it is kind of hard to care about something if you can't interact with it. i spent most of my life only getting a new game on my birthday or christmas, and then later when i became an adult, getting used games from gamestop and thrift stores and then the internet archive and other sites that i almost don't even think about new releases for systems unless i have the system. How old are you? your reasoning is kind of awkward because if you like videogames when you have money you will eventually start "caring about them" again. As for me, I prefer old games than new ones, but I also like new ones when they are great games. Everything is in constant change, but developers who know how to do their stuff will continue existing, luckily :)
Thought so ;)
by then, it might be on sale, so you'll save money on it and then you can add it to the backlog. and it should also hopefully have all of its patches and updates rolled out as well.Mostly because of my existing backlog of games: Why pay $80 for something on launch when I might not get around to it until many, many, months later?
That's not always the case. I know most of my friends have your reasoning as a base, if you don't have the system why to care about its games.to be a bit fair, it is kind of hard to care about something if you can't interact with it. i spent most of my life only getting a new game on my birthday or christmas, and then later when i became an adult, getting used games from gamestop and thrift stores and then the internet archive and other sites that i almost don't even think about new releases for systems unless i have the system.
when you can't afford it, it aggravates you to go and look at the new stuff, knowing that you can't get it. why put yourself through that? i forget that the ff7 remake exists most of the time because i don't have the new playstation systems.
and even when you have the money for it; you're not really getting anything in return. most of the game's budget is spent on graphics, and i've seen next gen games look like garbage in comparison to older games. most of the content is bland and generic. devs will tread the same ground over and over again.
hopefully the indie devs will start gaining even more momentum and can push to the top of the food chain. i've seen more games from those people that look interesting to play and are more reasonably priced than the mediocre slop the "AAA" industry can put out.
what are your favourite games this generation so far?I play everything. New and old. I've played some really awesome games this gen and they keep coming.

does it need to for you to enjoy it? I could say this for any mediumat this point video games have barely even 'advanced' for like a decade so I don't even know anymore.
I dont care about them bc I cant afford the hardware to run them.
