3 Times, Once in Elementary, Then 3 times in High School, and then never again sense I graduated, but hey at least I never had to deal with any heartbreaks :)

I had a crush on someone in secondary school, they seemed to me from a distance like the perfect person. Nothing happened, though. Other things happened in my life that made me eventually lose complete interest in falling in love with them or ever asking them out. Like a temporary spell of attraction and nothing else. That's why I like to use the process of time to understand whether I truly had feelings like this for someone.

Sad to read that some people never managed to ask out the people they liked

To me it's a part of the adventure that is life and being afraid of rejection is never a good thing , going up to talk to the person you have a crush on is and of itself an accomplishment

So even if you end up getting rejected i think it's better than the torment of staying still and doing nothing then regretting it later

Just don't do it in a way that can come off as obnoxious , and you will be fine ::sailor-embarrassed

I wouldn't use the word "sad" because it's not like people missed their only opportunity at life and we can't be sure if the relationship would last beyond school or that it could've affected the academic performance of the persons.

It's not the end of the world and there are many persons to meet in life, school is just a place to learn things.

Ok but it seems some are afraid of rejection , it's also a way to get valuable experience on how to deal with romantic interests and learn more about the other gender nature and how to act around them

I get your point about people that shouldn't be afraid of rejection but I don't think someone has to be in a romantic relationship to know how to act around women and to respect them. I also think that someone's nature isn't strictly correlated with gender either as it's more individual-based.

I also understand parents wanting their child to focus on studies instead of trying to be in couple with someone else (which isn't guaranteed to last beyond H.S). College is probably a better place (as long as the person knows how to be organised).

Yeeeees but it's still hell of a fun experience so why not?

You love to argue semantics don't you?

I mean college is where the serious relationships start , anything before is more or less fooling around for the most part
